Why do you people keep bringing James Wan to the conversation? Not saying anything about his talent (I mean, he is great, he made The Conjuring, which in other hands would have been just another typical horror movie), but Aquaman also had a 200M budget, something that Tomb Raider will never get.

Not saying Tomb Raider couldn't have done something better with the 94M budget it had, but comparing it to a movie that had a budget more than two times higher is really unfair.

You know - that's true but I genuinely believe the $200M went on the screen when you realise films like Jurassic World costed $175M.

So the fact is even with a $100M he could deliver something amazing, thankfully Lara doesn't hang around underwater that much. You obviously haven't seen Aquaman yet but it's like Avatar in terms of it's all visual effects but as a director he knows how to spend his money because as much as I loved Tomb Raider it didn't look $94M.

And post Aquaman I can say that Jurassic World 2 doesn't look $175M if $25M extra gives you what he delivered in Aquaman and I don't know how Wonder Woman costed over $125M after this.

Again when you see it - you will agree with me. There's this Island he washes up on like 2/3rds in with monsters and a Tomb hidden behind a Waterfall. Aquaman goes into an Atlantan tomb in the desert in like the first 3rd of the movie, TR1 egypt feels for sure.

Anyone who sees Aquaman will agree with me. But again if it's campy Tomb Raider their making. Since it's grounded and bleak I'd still put Chris McQuarie at the top but if they pivot the way the Thor franchise did with AMAZING results - it will work out really well. I think it should Pivot somewhat, I think people are tired of grounded and dirty rough stories, they want something a bit more aspirational, something that looks like a spectacle etc.

Lets just say that because Aquaman did it first, they can never re-make the TR1 story for the big screen because the film would just play like Aquaman in terms of setting.

Do not be so innocent ... James Wan will not direct a TR movie in life. TR can currently only aspire to: second-line directors or foreign directors who want to go to Hollywood.

James Wan is one of the most promising and desired directors and would not accept the sequel to a movie that has not worked well ...

The only way TR has a director of the A list is if he has another reboot and leave that director absolute freedom.

Agreed.

I'd love to see Albert Hughes directing TR sequel. He seems far more available than Wan, and his 'Alpha' looked stunning with $51mil budget.
Or Andy Serkis. A script for 'Mowgli' was kinda meh, but Serkis did a good job.

Can we take a minute and appreciate how nice Alicia looks in this attire?

Nice booty gorl!

God I love her determination!

She really has put heart in this project. You can tell.
Just look at the way her eyes light up when she talks about buying the rebooted games.
I know that she's an actress, but I doubt she'd fake it.

Oh my word, yes. Alicia slays me, especially in that outfit. If we ever get a sequel, I want the high-tied braid back, and this fabulous outfit.

This movie was a serious queen.

I dont like the high braid. It's very stripper/pornstar looking to me lol. Plus it reminds me of Ariana Grande. Her body looks amazing there though. Goes to show how strength training lifts the booty.

Id prefer a middle height braid or even a low one. Not french though imo that one should be left as Jolie's signature look.

High braid looks good on some women and not fit the others. I'm sorry but Alicia looks like a cheap cosplay with this outfit and hairstyle to me. Angelina's wardrobe is too wrong for her.
