To be fair, Separate Ways wasn't in the original release either. It was only included for the PS2 re-release. So, I'm not surprised they're going to hold it back. Imo it was more expensive than Shadow of Rose.

I haven't had a chance to read the reviews. What did they say was missing besides Separate Ways.

I've read quite a couple of those reviews

If any other game lacked one of those aspects they "criticise" here, they'd crucify it. But it's RE4, so no.

Can you cancel a pre-order on PS Store? It was my first time pre-ordering something. I don't think this will be worth it in the end, and I will be so mad for spending £65.

Not that I think the game will be a mess, but I'm kinda on a scale with it now that I think about the games and what the best things about them were for me.

RE7 - Gameplay, Bakers, Baker Home/Greenhouse
RE2R - Gameplay, Zombies/Enemies, RPD
RE3R - Gameplay
RE8 - Gameplay, Lady D/Daughters, Castle D

So there is a pattern for me how the beginning of the games are the best part for me, then they fall flat.

I replayed Village again the other day after the RE4 remake demo got me in the mood to play Shadow of Rose.

Honestly, ALL of the criticisms I had when I first played the game stand. It has the most nonsensical and non RE plot of the entire series. By the time you get to heisenbergs factory you get things that eclipse even RE6's level of stupidity. Shadow of Rose takes it to the next level with her having magical powers etc.

The game, imo, falls apart as a viable RE game after you leave Castle Dimitrescu. They should have had more of the game set there. Moreau/Beneviento and Heisenberg's sections just feel ripped out of Evil Within or other games. It's not a bad game by any means, just as RE6 wasn't, but it shouldn't have been a mainline game. Trying to mix the Winters' story with whatever the original story was doesn't really work. I really hope RE9 takes a more traditional approach like RE2/3 remake.

Quick reminder that M-Two was the lead of the project for 3 years until Capcom main division took it and wanted the game to be less faithful of OG. I'm convinced Capcom was the one behind the decision of RE3make and M-Two just follow order. Outsourcing the game wasn't a problem to begin with.
