Not me reviving an old thread...

So are you guys holding up? It has been now more than 4 years since the last game... how has it been for you?
For older members... how is this similar to the 2008-2013 era?

Strangely, it felt longer back in the time. Certainly because I was younger and I didn't have the same perception of time.
At the time however, we had a spin off in 2010 and two years and a half of news concerning TR 2013. Now, it's more difficult as we only have a mobile game in 5 years and no concrete news ! Somehow, I managed to be patient as an adult-self.

For me this period has definitely felt longer.

And although it was 5 years between TRU and TR2013, I think they had trailers and things in 2011 so we had stuff to talk about after 3 years.

It's way more silent now.

Except for the audition script leak (which I'm pretty convinced is authentic but who really knows?) there has been nothing. Not even a few concept art pics.

Exactly! I remember in 2011/2012 having tons of videos related to TR on a pen drive and connecting it to the TV and watching them every single night

I haven't been paying attention to how much time has passed like I used to in between games. That and considering the quality of the last game, it's not like I was aching to have more of that, so I stopped caring or waiting. Covid also helped about 2 years just fly by without realizing it. TRU to TReboot was quite noticable, but there were leaks and some actual stuff revealed, so there was something to latch onto, something to hope for or look forward to. We basically have nothing to reference, which helps with the wait not being a bother.

Same. The way I really have just stopped caring about this franchise at this point. Still drop in here every now and again for the community I guess but whatever, when the next game comes it comes without any high expectations.

Also other game franchises are giving what TR refuses to give at this point. I'm excited for Assassins Creed and Resident Evil releases way more than TR these days. AC Mirage and RE4 remake both look like they're going to eat and leave no crumbs.

The gap between TRU to TReboot was only 4 and a half years. The gap between Shadow and TR12 is already over the 4 year mark as well, yet somehow up until recently it didn't feel that long. And that was on top of the fact that we already had an official trailer AND gameplay by 2011.

I think it's mostly because now that I'm nearing 30 I just have so much more responsibilities and other preoccupations that time just passes by and when I do have free time I pad it out with different activities or other video games.

That doesn't mean I don't crave new TR content though. I absolutely do and it's rather dreadful that we haven't even had an official announcement yet. If I recall correctly they did unofficially confirm a new game is in fact in development, but a trailer or a press release with screenshots is what I'm waiting for. Makes me think we won't get a new game until 2024 the earliest. :/
