But when you play 2013 and Rise back to back you realize that a lot of the answers she needs are questions she has from her experience in 2013 on that island.

She learned the supernatural was real in 2013 and it forever changed her. It seems she in fact did carry that trauma from 2013 into Rise after all.

I wish they actually showed Lara's therapy sessions. It would have been a really good wasy to show how traditional therapy could never work for Lara because she could never really talk about the supernatural. Tomb Raiding effectivly became Lara's therapy.

Default Control, the main plot of the game.

I really like how often this game is about control.
Ana controlling Lara's life without her knowing it, Konstantin trying to take control of his life (that was again controlled by Ana), Jacob trying to control the village and protect them (but in the end we see how people are willing to leave it and have a new life), Lara taking control of her own self...

How Jacob can control life and death and what it means to me immortal is also something that I think fits right in the Tomb Raider series philosophy.
For a long time Rise was my least favourite TR Survivor era game, but the story is really complex and pretty well built. Certainly way better than Shadow and that tragic and weak plot.

Also Konstantin is one of the best TR villains to date. Ana had potential to be the Nattla of Survivor Lara too!

Pretty interesting to think how many aspects the plot has to offer in a more deep level of analysis.

The best TR game of the decade. Loved it. Will revisit it again for 375853th time someday.

This gem was ahead of its time and still looks like it could have come out today

Default NPC's giving ammo and heal to Lara!

Did you knew that after the battle in the valley (after fighting with the flamethower guy) you can get ammo and health items from the locals?
If you talk to the natives that are helping other to recover, some of them will you give items and even tell you to "Use this bullets on Trinity and make sure it hurts".
I never knew that, such a nice little touch!

On my first playthrough of this at the moment. I've just gone past the first shop (purchased the 3 cheapest items), and not long after that met Jacob. Really enjoying the game so far. I've come to this game last after doing both the reboot and also Shadow of the Tomb Raider first. Yeah I know, strange order!

I've got a feeling it will be hard to rank this trilogy when I'm done. I still prefer the old classic games, but there's a very consistent quality to these three newer games which is really likable.

I feel like the classic games are much more similar to the reboot games than LAU. Glad you’re enjoying the games!
