Hi everyone, just giving a quick update

Progress is going well, TRJTA is working on fixing every little texture/geometry issue in the level and I'm working on the gameplay. I will be taking this opportunity to also add back some of the unused pawnable items such as the camera, especially since the streets route doesn't have any pawnable items right now. I've also been working on improving the cut section in other ways such as fixing how the cop can disappear in front of the player if you are quick enough.

Another thing I wanted to mention is that Google Drive is starting to flag some of my downloads as "malicious" or violating the rules and they need to get manually approved. Currently the 1.4.0 standalone download is safe but the transitional update was flagged. I will probably need to move the downloads over to somewhere else so don't be surprised if some of the links don't work until then.

Having been in the impossible to reach backstreets using devious means to get in there, I see a lot of new material used, and re-building empty areas.

Was a lot of these new moves built in like the 'punch the policeman in the face' move, and 'swinging along on the wire' move or was a lot of new animation added by yourself

just amazing to see the area finished

Any chance of adding a newspaper clipping at the end that says Lara Croft takes down the Monstrum and thwarts the Cabal or something along the lines. This would clear up Lara’s name and also add a closure to the game.

I started this yesterday and I have only played AOD once a very long time ago. I am surprised how much of the game I remember and how much the restoration project has changed. I recognize all the new lines.

I love how the first level doesn’t end when you come down the ladder or how the police kicks the door faster and is also communicating about suspect. I also like how we need to go down to pick up the roof key. Love all these little changes and they add a lot to atmosphere. Looking forward to further changes in the later levels.

Edit: Has the Kurtis cutscene with him on a bike been moved? Since the door to the club has been moved, I did not see the cutscene when I was going toward the club with the key in hand. EDIT: OHH and the body. Oh I really like all these story additions. They really add context to the story.

Those animations were already there, I didn't add them myself

I'm glad you are enjoying the mod . As for the suggestion, adding in something like that would feel too "fan-made", since I try to keep the additions and changes in this mod directly based on Core's ideas or cut content.

I currently at Boza Returns level. And I cannot seem to change targets.
I am using a PS5 controller with LAU controls. I have the target on lock with look key and I am strafing around the target. But pressing the roll button is not changing the target to the acid pods.

Is there something else I need to do? I am kind of stuck on the boss at the moment.

Also Lara is not sprinting when I press the look key while running as well. Not sure if that is related or not.

The first form of Boaz is the same as the vanilla game, except you can target her from a lot further now and the changing targets system also works the same way as the vanilla game as long as you're holding down the look button, so you can watch a walkthrough of the boss and beat her the same way. I'm guessing you're trying to change targets at the wrong time but I'm not sure.

You start sprinting by tapping the look button once now, rather than holding it.

Thanks for the tip. I had forgotten that you can only destroy the pods when Boaz is spewing from them.

Finished the game and I must say the story presented was much clearer thanks to the additional diary notes. I did not find any open threads except Kurtis of course but we all know he died there.

The game controlled so much better than the original controls. Restoration project is a must to play this game. I liked the expanded RPG elements in Ghetto. I also like Dance of the Lux Veritatis being used for Kurtis's final battle. Very appropriate. It was also nice seeing snow in Prague. I have seen screenshots over the year but it really does add a lot to the atmosphere. A shame the level is so short. The dual guns; the sunglasses being enabled made me squeal. I played the game mostly with glasses.

The stealth and cover mechanics finally work due to restoration project but sadly there are not enough instances to use them. I was also surprised how little weapons are required in this game.

If I had original controls I don't think I would have enjoyed them this much. I was also surprised how good this game looked. It looked as good as a PS3 game. However, even with how successful the restoration project ended up being its still Angel of Darkness and I think Core wanted to make a different kind of game but still have Tomb Raider name on it. And that's ok. Its just not what I look in a Tomb Raider game. I would still recommend this game.

Took me close to 12 hours to finish the game. Its kind of ironic how much was cut but the game still ended up being longer than Crystal Trilogy games.

I just tried it out, it seems to work great except for.. she has no face at all, it's completley missing Any ideas how to fix this?

Edit: Managed to fix it myself, AOD just doesn't like Parallels for me, with Bootcamp it works like a charm

kurtis didnt die there
you can read the sequel novel very close to the canon because murti is involved "path of the black alchemist"

@reborninshadow: Do you think it would be possible to make her start running again faster after stopping? The original running to stand animation and pause are pretty long, maybe the animation could just be canceled out when pressing a new direction? Using PC Tank controls btw.
