I like it too! I didn't get why people were hating it so much when the game came out, I thought Lily did a great job as Ada.

A lot of people don't like the delivery sounding half assed. She sounds like she's just reading lines, not actually being the character. It's a big departure from the previous voice actresses in comparison.

She sounds SO detached from reality, and I think it suits her character and her motivations as that character. I'd love to see Ada fleshed out overall, how did she become like she is? She both sounds so defeated, and at the same time at 0% capacity for anyone's **** lol

It just sounds like she’s not connected to what she’s saying. Her voice is very monotone with little, to no performance behind it. I don’t believe in the hate she’s getting/got, she’s just not for me.

Leon is also dead inside but I feel like the voice actor sold it better and how he slowly softens up as the story progresses. His cold personality is from the Raccoon City incident, being held hostage and enslaved by the gov, and his overall outlook on life being very grim since he is forced to endure fighting monsters against his will. I want to know why Ada is so cold.

I feel like we are VERY long overdue for a full game with her. I am glad that the remakes are mostly doing away with her "romance" (if you can even call it that) with Leon. She deserves to be her own fleshed out character and not constantly attached to him. The irony is she has significantly more character and story potential than most of the main cast.

Capcom has never really been consistent with their lore but in the original RE3 files we learn that Ada isn't even her real name. It would be cool to finally learn who she really is in her own title.

The issue with Ada is she feels like a completely different character than who we met in RE2. Not only is her writing not as spunky, but her delivery makes any sort of life that could be derived from these lines completely vanish. There’s no charisma to her, and that’s never something Ada was lacking. She sounds like she doesn’t give a crap, but that directly goes against her actions. It’s this very weird disconnect between what she does and what she says that throws me off. She sounds like she can’t stand Leon, but then goes out of her way to help him? It’s very jarring, and that comes down to just how Lily sounds, I’m sure she could deliver these lines with more life, but to me her voice just isn’t Ada. Adas voice is strong, but warm. Lilys voice is strong, but it’s not warm.

I hope she does well in Separate Ways and maybe after all the backlash they directed her to give a bit more in her performance, thankfully we won’t have long to wait!

I think there's that, but there's also the inevitable comparison to the original representation of the character which had far more to it, imo, than the remake character does.

Ironically, I feel like Lily Gao feels like a good representation of a continuation of OGRE2 Ada, but remake RE2 Ada feels like she was written to be an earlier version of OG RE4 Ada. It's all backwards.

People in Japan are able to play the game now and I am watching a stream. Unfortunately, at least from just watching the first 5 of the 7 chapters...this DLC is kind of bland.

They have added a lot more content than what was in the original but unfortunately its just a lot of padding. It also adds some things that kind of retcon or don't fit with the original.

at one point Ada puts a big tracking device on Leon's back and yet during the normal gameplay that resumes with Leon this is obviously not there. Also Wesker physically brings himself to the island which begs the question why he didn't just do all of this himself anyway.
