Reverting to original settings doesn't work, either.
Hmm that's weird. Did it ever work for you? Also what's your PC hardware?

Does anyone know what this means?
I think this happens when you are missing the level files (data folder). See this note from the README:

(Steam users / music) The Steam version of the game does not ship with the music assets due to the publishers' negligence. If you have previously installed TombATI, you don't need to do anything. Otherwise you can download the music files from the link below.
https://mega.nz/file/f9llhQAY#y0RqaM...8Q66bzdMWVqtuY
These assets are not a part of this project. The legality of these is disputable. The most legal way to get the music on PC is to rip the assets yourself from a physical PlayStation disk. TombATI ships with this music by default, which this project chooses not to do.

What I recommend is installing TombATI and copying the "data", "music", and "fmv" folders from it to your Tomb1Main folder. This will give you level files with the PS1 music.

Thank you SO much! This worked perfectly for me (I also had to add FMVS but then all was fine). It looks really amazing.

Is there a way to change the layout for the controller? As a PlayStation gamer it is very unusual for me to have the classic jump button assigned as the action button. I tried doing it in the controls menu but it doesn't recognise controller input.

Afaik, the control scheme is unfortunately hardcoded at the moment. Better controller support is on the roadmap.
Also, if you know how to code, you could remap the buttons in the code and build the game yourself

Thanks for the info! It's not a bad thing, I just keep confusing them because I literally played the other way around for the last 20 years haha. Unfortunately I don't have any coding skills. If I had them I would love to participate in all these wondering projects to keep the classics updated and improved.

Not at all, as I've realized that.

I'm on Lenovo ideapad Slim 3, an x64-based laptop with Intel Celeron N4020.

All I wanted to do was finally experience the Gold levels after decades

Hopefully with this, I'll finally have a good PC release that works with a controller
If anyone has the Steam version you can enable controller in the steam settings (DS4,5, Xbox, Generic) and as as long as you launch via steam and overlay is active controller will work (you can also rename TR1main to TombATI and it'll work with that too)

I'm using a DS3 with an Xbox wrapper so it thinks its one of those

Never mind this, I just realized that I need to install TombATI v1.7 first before playing with it. I'm a dumb guy

EDIT: Nope, still doesn't work. Not sure where I'm wrong doing it.

Sounds like maybe it's something with your hardware. Idk.
