Yet another approval
China's State Administration for Market Regulation has unconditionally approved Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard, making it the 37th country to support the deal, with only two standing against Quote:

The only ones that really matter are the EU, UK, and the US. Personally I don't think the deal should go through given the collosal amount of IPs they have and partnered with in the past.
However if the UK reversed their stance and approved the deal then it's no big loss to me as Ill just write off Activision as I've written off Bethesda.

I think it'll get approved in the US and then the UK will be forced to follow suit. Especially as the Government has started putting pressure on the rationale and impact behind their decision.
Given Sony is still running around striking up exclusivity deals with third parties left right and centre, I think it'll go through eventually. Quote:
Personally I'll never move to entirely streaming games. It's great not have to wait for things to install and update, good for if you're on the fly and desperate or small games. I also use it as a demo to see if I like a game and want to bother committing to an install. But anyone who has paid any attention to Phil Spencer over the last few years can easily see console hardware is not their priority anymore.

It just never ends
FTC expected to file injunction to block Microsoft's purchase of Activision Blizzard

Xbox insinuates that it bought Bethesda to block Starfield PS5 console exclusivity
https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2023...le-exclusivity I remember reading way back in the day that Microsoft paid Bethesda a lot of money IIRC it was 80 million for limited time exclusivity of the Fallout 3 DLC for Xbox. I tried googling it to find where I had read it but couldn't find it. This was during the console wars a war that Microsoft appears to be trying to reignite. I think that Microsoft were thinking that by having the Fallout 3 DLC on Xbox for a limited time that people who didn't have an Xbox would go and buy one just to play the DLC. Microsoft are clearly living both on another planet and in Cloud Cuckoo Land if they thought that people would buy an Xbox solely for the Fallout 3 DLC. Buying a console to play a game is one thing like I did when I bought a GameCube to play RE4, buying a console for some DLC is entirely different and Microsoft must think that people have plenty of money to squander on an Xbox just to play some DLC, as the old saying goes a fool and their money are soon parted. If Microsoft wanted people to play the Fallout 3 DLC on Xbox even if it was for a limited time then maybe Microsoft should have bought Xboxes for everyone that wanted to play the DLC instead of expecting people to waste hundreds of euro/pounds buying an Xbox, if Microsoft can spend or waste 80 million depending on your point of view then Microsoft can easily afford to buy Xboxes for anyone that wanted to play the DLC on Xbox. Microsoft does some strange things and paying 80 million for time limited DLC is odd, is there anything Microsoft won't do to win a console war. Let's not forget the disaster that was the Xbone reveal, always on Kinect leading to fears/concerns that people would be spied on in their homes, having to connect to the internet every 24 hours and games being disabled until the Xbone was reconnected to the internet and not being able to share games plus the 600 dollar price. Sony meanwhile were watching and did the opposite of everything that Microsoft tried to do with the Xbone, no always on Kinect or spying on people in their homes, no having to connect to the internet every 24 hours, no games being disabled until reconnected to the internet, being able to share games and it was a hundred dollars cheaper than the Xbone, Microsoft spectacularly blew it and failed to win E3 that year. It's been 10 years since Microsoft almost ruined Xbox forever https://www.thegamer.com/xbox-one-re...ect-tv-sports/ |

Microsoft forced Bethesda to make Xbone exclusives and they weren't happy
https://metro.co.uk/2023/06/27/micro...=mosaic_gaming Xbone wanted to spend Sony out of business reveals latest court documents https://metro.co.uk/2023/06/27/xbox-...=mosaic_gaming Microsoft are clearly trying to both monopolise and dominate the games industry by buying up every developer they can get their hands on and make every game an Xbone exclusive so that people will have no choice but to buy an Xbone to play Fallout and Elder Scrolls. For that reason alone Microsoft should be prevented from having total/sole dominance in the games industry, Microsoft it seems wants to crush any and all competition. Microsoft is no different than Tai Yong Medical in Deus Ex Human Revolution repeatedly trying to acquire Sarif Industries just because it didn't like having competition, Sarif Industries wasn't the only company that Tai Yong Medical went after to ensure that TYM dominated the mechanical augmentation industry. |

That I can certainly agree/ They did this since PS1 day and still doing it. Bring new IP to the table with fresh and new ideas without milking badly. Other the hand, Microsoft, the two most post popular titles, is like more Halo, Halo, Halo and more Halo, Gears of War, Gears of War, Gears of War and even more of Gears of War, then more Halo, Halo, Halo Halo and Gears of war. Never Ending. Microsoft becomes a complete 360 wankstain self destructive. Pumping to out Time exclusive did no favor for Microsoft.

^ To be frank, I find current gen to be extremely underwhelming on both sides. Sony might've been putting out more exclusives, but I still haven't seen a single non-PC game that would make me want a PS5.

It's Sony's fault we have console exclusives say Microsoft
https://kotaku.com/microsoft-sony-co...eld-1850591066 That's a load of 💩 no-one forced Microsoft to have console exclusives that's a decision that Microsoft have made, Gears of War. Halo and Forza are all Xbone exclusives Microsoft made that decision for those games to be exclusive. Since Microsoft bought Bethesda they have made every Bethesda game an Xbone exclusive, is Sony to blame for that too the answer is no Microsoft is, Microsoft alone made that decision so Microsoft can take the blame for it. |
