Is tomb editor better than tomb raider next generation level editor and tomb raider level editor ?
Does it contain everything?
Is it sufficient to use it and does not need to download the previous editor?
Is it considered better than previous editor ?
what do you think ?

Of course LOL
TE is far ahead NGLE. We miss only something about plugins but the editor is stable, modern, faster, with also additional features not available in NGLE. And it supports direct import of geometry, better texturing, better modeling...

First of all Tomb Editor is designed for modern windows versions and will still be working for a long time. You can't guarantee this for NGLE and especially the old WinRoomEdit. Some day, as OS standards get updated, these old application may refuse to run. Someone might come up with a patch for a temporary fix, but eventually even that may no longer help.

TE is practically guaranteed to run going forward because:
  • it is built for modern OS
  • it is actively maintained and updated by the developers
  • it is open source, written in C# code which is now publicly available on GitHub for anyone to inspect, so if someone outside of the dev team knows how to fix something, they can contact Monty and their solution may get included

None of these things are true for WinRoomEdit/NGLE. Somewhere along the line these older programs may refuse to work anymore, and it might not be possible to fix.

And besides that, there are obvious advantages in terms of functionality when you compare TE and the older programs. But you can only really decide if this is the case or not once you start using the programs and compare them yourself.

Yes. 100%.

The only thing I miss from NGLE.exe is being about to colour moveables in editor, after setting them to be static in STRPIX. I don't think there's a way to do that in TE currently.

TE is superior by lightyears. It's not even up for discussion at this point honestly.

Definitely better.

I liked the classic TRLE and was nice to have some new features with NGLE, however those programs stopped working fine in my machine years ago. (So NGLE could have been great, but if the TRLE room editor was crashing every 5 mins... I couldn't enjoy a lot of NGLE before... Besides, I can't open it in full screen anymore.

It was thanks to the new Tomb Editor that I'm engaging with TRLE again.

This feature will be available in next version of TE.
Also, in next version of WT you will be able to set mesh light type to static for moveables.
Also, imported moveable meshes will keep its vertex shades (e.g. painted in Blender).
