Next TR game put on hiatus?
I was talking to a friend that apparently said that TR was put on hiatus because Square Enix wasn't happy with the sales? Will we see a new TR game at E3?

Of course we won't see a new TR at E3, it's far too soon when Shadow hasn't been out a year yet. But that does not mean the franchise has been put on a hiatus. Steady on!

No one really knows, although we're all assuming that we're in for a bit of a hiatus.

I don't necessarily think it has to do with the sales. Putting out 3 big titles like that can become a little exhausting. In order to create a new game with fresh idea's and without feeling like they're milking the franchise. The hiatus is probably to ensure the quality won't drop

Sticking Tomb Raider in the freezer is the right choice indeed. The franchise is in a sad state right now and a complete mess. As it stands right now there is no way I'd ever purchase TR12 if it indeed just continues on with this reboot. This franchise needs to be chilled until someone comes along with ideas and passion to reinvigorate this franchise with fresh ideas that respect it's roots and will bring the fanbase together instead of tearing apart and not giving a damn.

I don't think the series has been put on hiatus but it will definitely take time for them to make a new game, but that's not a bad thing at all!
Shadow took three years to be made but they already had Lara's model, animations, various other assets (like skills, menues...), etc. So the next game will take time to remake those things (maybe they could keep Lara's model but the animations need to be redone, they look outdated and they've been criticized). |

I assume we’ll have some sort of hiatus, but I’m not sure how long. I just hope we don’t see anything official about the next main game for at least two years.
I would love a game to tie us over though. |

I definitely don't want it to release the same year it's announced that is all

Well, I think this is the direction SE intends with their every new release. And I don’t think it has anything to do with the game itself being unpolished or anything, but in SOTTRs case I feel they simply didn’t give their all, to promote the game
