Iirc, for the 2018 movie, they had an advisory role only, to make sure they didn't spoil anything for Shadow. Maybe they have a similar role this time.

What they have to do now is put the movie in streaming services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.... So people can discover the first movie and bring them to watch the new film on cinemas.

The have it on Netflix in the UK and most European countries and HBO Max in the US.
I'd say the home video sales have been what made this a success. It was number 1 in the UK for a while I think with the added home release sales it ended up around 300M.
