Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 at the movies. Long movie, but entertaining and enjoyable. Loved Rocket Racoon.

Logan. A grim and gritty movie, but it's pretty well-made and it was a great farewell to Hugh Jackman's Wolverine. I hope Deadpool 3 doesn't cheapen it.

Watched Laputa 1986 from Studio Ghibli, also called 'castle in the sky' on my ancient projector last night giving me a 10 foot by 7 screen on my wall. Just like being at the movies with popcorn. still on the same projector bulb after all these years which is amazing, but only use it once a month for specific good films I love, like Laputa and Avatar and the like

When the projector does eventually blow the bulb, I will treat myself to a new projector, which are now quarter of the price they used to be, and they use bright lcd instead of bulbs.

Laputa is my all time favorite Japanese movie, where the visuals and the music is so atmospheric. Studio Ghibli had a habit of sending their artists to specific countries to get the atmosphere of the story, and this film is set in a world that is so like Cornwall in England, with tin mines but set in massive vertical cliffs.

I had the original VHS tape with english dubbed voices, which were fantastic, but the DVD version which I now have, has changed some of the voice actors and is not quite the same quality. You would not notice if you have never seen it before. The fantastic music is still the same and goes with the action, but overall this is a fantastic story and well worth seeing.

Story is of a boy and girl who set out to discover Laputa, as the boys late father who had been a pilot had seen the flying island and others did not believe him, though the boy did as he had a photo of the island his father took. Of course there are some real nasties that get in the way of this quest, by the bad army, the interrogation squad, crazed war robots and the pirates (pirates are half bad and half good). Though there are good characters that help like the old miner in the pits. One of the best films from Studio Ghibli

"The Matrix". Let me tell ya, it's still as mind-blowing as ever. The action, the storyline, the mind-bending concept, it all had me hooked from start to finish.

Liked the first film as a unique SI-FI concept, but the sequels to me, were not as memorable as the first.

A very good film if you like the matrix, is the Animatrix DVD, which is a collection of short animated (drawn and CGI) set of films. All based on the matrix world. It is excellent.

Second time watching Bird Box
It's kind of too bad when it was released it got memed for idiots doing dangerous things while blindfolded because it is a really great movie. Both times watching I cried my eyes out the entire last 10 minutes when the lead finally
yells "Do NOT take my children!!" and lets so much maternal love spill out after suppressing it and being so cold for the sake of survival/avoiding heartbreak for so long

I also really love Sandra Bullock, she's in tons of memorable movies stretching back to the '90s and is still taking interesting roles

Fall (2022)

Two climbers stuck up a 2000 ft telephone mast. Not good if you don't like heights.

Such a great thrilling film, I watched it a few months back and enjoyed it more than I thought I would.

I honestly thought it would be very predictable, but I can't recall the last time I felt anxious and on edge whilst watching a movie. I'm curious what the sequel will be like.

The twist towards the end was done well. I just knew something was off when the friend didn't attempt to catch the bag as it was falling.

Old, Gael Garcia Bernal, Vicky Krieps. A family vacations on a secluded beach and are horrified to realise they're aging at a rapid rate. I honestly don't know how to feel about this one at the moment. It's both horrifying yet at times seems a little silly, but those moments are short lived. It left me feeling quite uneasy.

I do not like these type of films as it happens to people in real life. So I do not watch them
