In reality we have no idea how ANY of these actresses would do as Lara. Some of the ones we think would be great could actually turn out to be crap and vice versa. I remember when AJ was cast for the first TR film, everyone flamed her and thought she was going to be horrible but it turned out she wasn't so bad.

The scripts for the first two movies were hardly great, Angelina seemed to make the best of it.

I think that the script and directing can save a movie from a bad actress but not even Angelina's talent could save the Tomb Raider movies from being bad films. XD

She was flamed? I never saw that. *shrug* If anything she should be flamed for the lacklustre performance she gave in the second film.

But yes, we don't really know how anyone will do.

I still think they'll go with a lesser known actress.

And it was very well known to everybody, that COL, with the bad reviews it had, AJ was the very best thing in it

I thought she did a terrible job in COL, I am entitled to my opinion. If you don't like it, use the ignore function.
