Lion, Dev Patel, Nicole Kidman. Based on the true story of an Indian boy who was separated from his family at aged 5, adopted by an Australian couple and, as a young man, desperately tries to find his home town, eventually finding and being reunited with his birth mum. It's a lovely film actually. Very emotional near the end.

No. The Lion aspect is that

throughout the film we think the boy's name is Saroo, but as a 5 year old he had been mispronouncing it. His actual name was Sheru, which translates to Lion.

OMG. What is with Hollywood and the over long movies?

It's not the 3 hrs that kills me, it's that I can't get a soda and not have to miss the movie at some point.

Why don't they consider bringing back intermissions? They make their money on concessions anyway.

Just watched Star Wars Episode 4 again. It has been some years since I last seen the movie. After the damage Disney has done to the franchise my love of Star Wars has dimmed. But watching Episode 4 again after so long I had forgotten how great it is. I will be watching both The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi to finish the original trilogy. Feels like doing this is rekindling a lost love.

Intermissions are a really good idea. I need to hydrate when it's too long, or I have an headache. Luckily this time I was fine when left the theater.

Have to agree that the original first three Star Wars movies were best (4,5 and 6). I watch them all the time. But not the later ones.

It was the way the crew were totally together with each other. The audience bonded with them. In later Star wars films it did not matter who died, it was just not the same.

True Spirit on Netflix (2023). True story of an Australian teen sailor - solo global circumnavigator at the age of 16, Jessica Watson who became the youngest person ever to sail solo, non stop around the world in 2010. Interesting.

You are right about bonding with the characters. To this day Darth Vader is my favorite. Though I still do like the prequels even if they are not as good.

Just finished Star Wars The Return of the Jedi. Three movies in three days. They still hold up but not a fan of some of the changes made for the special edition release. I for one will continue to believe that Disney Star Wars is non-canon. I'll Take the Expanded Universe instead.

I was watching the Blu-rays this time. For some reason I difficulty getting them to play. Seems like they force you to keep upgrading software to let you watch movies you already own.
