Not really bothered by this to be honest. I've played Blood Money the most (not sure about the rest of 'em) and there's a certain campiness to it that allows for all those wacky outfits, ie. Chicken Suit, Santa, etc. Absolution seems to be moving away from that so it fits in my opinion. I love his suit anyway.

Instinct mode highlights enemies and their patrols through walls, like Arkham Asylum’s detective mode.

I don't see anywhere where it said the use of this will be mandatory, so I don't get why people are so miffed about it. And if it is, then at least it can serve in the same function as the old map screen by studying patrols.

No big scale map screen as in previous games.

However, with the removal of the big map then I guess they really are going in a more linear direction. I liked being able to explore the open levels and really get the lay of the land while forming a plan and keeping an eye on ym target. But once you really nail a specific technique for a level then you can really breeze through it nnd the map screen becomes kinda irrelevant so... it's not all bad.

Levels will be divided into checkpoints for the first time.

Not a big deal to me either. *shrugs*

Plot will be more personal to 47, with the Hitman knowing some of his targets.

Sounds interesting.

Hand to hand combat will be involved.
I welcome this, too.
I agree completely. Oh well, haters gonna hate and all that jazz.

Game is primarily set in Chicago
Doesn't really bother me, they can still have varied environments I'm sure

Bigger focus on staying hidden, rather than staying in disguise (sounds a lot like Splinter Cell: Conviction so far)

Good. This is one thing I wanted them to adapt, not change as it's a staple. If you can still do it then good but I'd rather use more conventional strealth methods as the disguise system was getting really stale by Blood Money .

Instinct mode highlights enemies and their patrols through walls, like Arkham Asylum’s detective mode.

Not a fan, but I just won't use it.

No big scale map screen as in previous games.

I don't knwo whether this means you won't have an active map showing targets, VIP, normal people moving about for the whole level like in previous games and you'll be limited to one area that you are in. Which I suppose is more realistic, if slightly annoying. The map was one of the things that did not need fixing IMO.

Levels will be divided into checkpoints for the first time.

Good. That's really a must these days, I tired of saving every 3 seconds in Blood Money.

Some stages will be as large as in old Hitman games, others will be much smaller
Well I think this sounds more realistic, no all targets are gonna be on plantation farms, abatoires or sky scrapers.

Plot will be more personal to 47, with the Hitman knowing some of his targets.

Sounds interesting.

47 and Diana will have new voice actors
Boo! But I'll get over it.

Hand to hand combat will be involved.
It always has been

I am increasingly more reluctant. I really hate some of the things that I am hearing though.

I wonder why they wouldnt rehire David Bateson and Vivienne McKee? They are prolly my favorite voice actors in gaming, and two of my favorite characters :/

Maybe it was creative differences, or something.

The coming four weeks will bring Hitman: Absolution to the masses in a world tour that will see us visiting 3 continents and six countries in a very short time.

First up, we’ll be going to the Eurogamer Expo on September 23rd - 25th. We’ll be showing off the game three times - once each on Friday (2PM), Saturday (2PM) and Sunday (3PM). After that, it’s off to South Africa and Rage on September 29th - October 2nd where the game will be shown in a series of intimate sessions along with the new Tomb Raider game. That same weekend, we’ll also be goig to Gamefest in Madrid for the largest consumer show in Spain.

Igromir in Moscow is next on October 5th to 9th and is a massive venture - 80.000 consumers will get the chance to enjoy Absolution before we join Microsoft for their community event at The Gathering in Reading, England. We round off the tour in New York (where else) at the New York Comicon running from October 13th to October 16th.

If you’re able to come to any of these events, drop by and see the game. We’ll be more than happy to have you!

Try to justify it all you want, this is not a Hitman game. Does it look nice? Yes. Does it play well? It appears to. Is is Hitman? From what I've seen, and heard, no.

It does have a different take than we are used to. Usually, we have an open-level, where we seek our targets. In the library level, they are seeking us, and the focus on stealth is all the much higher. It reminded me of Splinter Cell Conviction (even though I hate that game for what it did to Splinter Cell).

I love the attentions to detail regarding the NPCs, like the police's comments to each other, and how they notice if the other person is not in sight or if they didn't respond to what they said. The platforming is also a great inclusion. It makes you more stalkerish and makes you not be seen. I thought the part where the guy takes his weed plant and tries to flush it down the toilet was great.

The enemy AI seems very good. Although, from the one line that 47 said, I did not like it. It's not cold or deep enough, but that was only one line. I was wary of this game becoming a SC Conviction type of abortion, but I think that the changes are good. I hope that it is not all like this, though. I still want that freedom, exploration, and killing targets that previous Hitman games had.

It's kinda like the TR 2012, it's not like any TR we have ever had, but I still think that it is great looking.

It's still missing that nice piece of Hitman that made the game fun. If the rest of the game is somewhat like the older game, than this was the WORST level to show of for a first gameplay segment. Hitman level design was somewhat artful and delicate in it's layouts and planning - this game, from what we've been shown, seems to lack that. It's streamline.

I, really, hate it when developers tag on optional tidbit that make gameplay easier. It's always that slight chance of me hitting the button and ruining EVERYTHING.

I know I will hate that Assassin Vision of whatever the **** it is. The fun about Hitman was trial and error. With the stupid ass neon color vision, it shows where they will go; there's no fun in knowing where they are going to end up >.> It's your fault if you get caught, and that's what made it great. I'm glad it's optional.

I really loved the level design. How you go from the Library, to the chicken coop, then to the apartment building; there was that tension when there was like 50 cops in the apartment building The mood was great, IMO, the style, the lighting, the various places to hide in the shadows and such.

I still am wary about this, not as much as I was before when we hadn't really seen anything, but I think it looks acceptable so far.

I don't mean level design, in terms of visuals and gameplay, but the entire entity of it all, down to the most minute details. I'm studying Game Design now - while the level design isn't bad, they took NO CUES WHAT SO EVER from past games.

The major point is how LINEAR the game is. I'm positive they could have kept the majority (not 51%, but a solid MAJORITY) of the gameplay the game, and gotten across the same feeling of the past games. The first level of contracts comes to mind.

The guided hand gameplay isn't doing it. The open approach would be much better. When Deus was linear, it felt mroe free than watching this, and no, stealth-or-action isn't freedom, it's a consequence for being loud.

Good Game? Yes.
Good Hitman game? No.

Not really digging the x-ray vision. But the game looks fun and the atmosphere is really good. It might not be much like the past Hitman games, but it does the series some justice. As long as my notoriety (Or lack thereof) affects the gameplay later on, I'm fine with it.
