I initially read this and thought “no, that’s not right” but honestly the more I think about it the more I think you’re onto something. The Mario Movie Peach is getting a lot of “bahhhh she’s too strong and not a damsel, they ruined Peach, she shouldn’t be wearing that suit, where is her dress? Why is she the strong one?”

Did we forget Nude Raider happened because the mens wanted to see more of Lara than the game would allow them to see ? Did we forget Eidos have tried to ask Core to put the nude code in TR2 ? Did we forget all the advertising Eidos have done ? Did we forget the number of blue movies and porn comics with a wannabe Lara in it in the 2000s ?

Reboot Lara appear to be the more sexualised version to you because nowaday you have an access to a number of various modern possibilities... Also she look more realistic than ever so I can understand why some are doing that.

If you look at the history of every franchise there not a singular thing that isn't being turned into an erotic or pornographic content.

I don't think anyone is forgetting any of that.

The difference is: back in the 90s, no one really cared and everyone knew at least 50% of Lara's marketing and conceptualization was centered around satisfying horny teenage boys in order to make them purchase the games. Nowadays, the devs act like they and Lara are above all that and we now have character "depth".
