It fits in with her not having attended a prestigious university, or not having a degree or whatever it's called, her circle (for the general public) would be "loonies" who write about lost continents and civilizations inhabited by giants and crazy artifacts, prehistoric monsters hiding there and there, etc. .

Also, she's a hunter (or I see her as such too, as someone a tribe would call in to hunt down a maneater beast, vegans wouldn't like her) and she has a wealthy background and we know how pepople reacts to that.

With that "reputation", it also makes sense that her "posh" father "disinherited" her.
I'm agree i'm a archeologist myself but My thoughts are more alternative very conspiracionist
Lara knows that is dangerous leave an artifact with the Smithsonian institute they are very deep state and they control the official archeology narrative
There's plenty evidence of past civilizations of more of 20000 years old but the Smithsonian don't like that and they made hell to archeologist that discovered sites with very old data
That is not a conspiracy is reality so with that mind yeah Lara is very aware of that

This is imo one of the biggest flaws in their whole "Survival theme" they started with TR2013 and then tried to keep going for three entire games. It basically stopped working after the first one in the trilogy. It's kinda like if wounded-after-Egypt-AOD-Lara had continued with that in AOD2 and 3.

Crystal had two different paths they wanted to go down with the Reboot: either survival horror, or whatever the thing is that we ended up getting. Horror would have been a risk for TR, but a worthwhile one because, if it had worked, it's the sort of thing you can stretch out over a trilogy without always needed to strand Lara on a deserted hostile island. Survival horror could have staid a new part of the franchise, without Lara always having to be thrown into an adventure unprepared.

Instead, they created 3 games that always begin exactly the same: Lara survives some sort of 'crash', losing all of her gear, and then has to spend the first few hours foraging some twigs and animal dung in order to make a bow, knife, and suitable clothing. It worked the first time. I couldn't believe they were making us do it all a third time after that plane crash in Shadow. They have to scrap the entire concept now if she really is going to be the millionaire-aristocrat-seasoned-adventurer like in the classic days. They wouldn't have had to scrap the horror concept if they had tried it.
Kurtis would be perfect in a supernatural and horror theme game even survival
Because all the demon hunter thing
If they wanted that bring Kurtis back
There's so much potential in him if they want to explore other genres
But Tomb raider is action adventure they must not touch that

I respect your opinion, but personally I don’t want Kurtis to come back, even though I’m a fan of him in AOD. I still wish we got more time to play as Kurtis in AOD.

1- CD would butcher and write him poorly. They just wouldn’t do him justice.
2- CD needs to come up with original ideas for once. I’m tired of Natla rumors. We’ve had Natla too many times. Do someone new. Come up with your own ideas and stop relying on old characters. Maybe I’m in the minority of Classic Fans but let some things exist only in the past and move forward with new and fresh ideas.

It would be goofy and dumb if Oddjob kept popping up in 007 with every new Bond actor. Some things are best left alone.

Well Jacob was like Kurtis in a way
And I liked rise story more than shadow

Shadow was from Eidos and rise from crystal
I think maybe with the new staff they can get better in writing I hope

But if this is unified timeline the next game is after underworld and they will bring back all the characters of core and crystal eras

Kurtis could return in the anime series or the Amazon series so crystal would not be involved in the writing

I think is a strong signal that he's back in tomb raider reloaded they want the people to start remember Kurtis again

I liked Kurtis' levels, it's too bad we could never play as Lara and shoot the freaks while hanging upside down

A recent cheap gold rose purchase reminds me of Chronicles every time I see it and I feel giddy like a thieving raven. Hope the feeling lasts long
