You get used to the gameplay. The side quests at first seem dull and pointless but once you get exploring more and progress further, they and the main story's gameplay seem reasonably balanced.
I remember at first thinking the same thing: Yawn, why am I doing this silly little tracking task, which seems exactly the same as the last one. But once you get further into the game, it really absorbs you.

The actual story missions are good, and some of the vaults are good, but it suffers TReebot levels of collectables which just aren't fun to collect.

I’ve just finished the game... oh wow. One of the immersing and powerful games I’ve ever played story wise. The gameplay didn’t match up to the story but it was fun and easy to pick up.
EDIT: I’ve just seen the post credits scene... why ruin such a hopeful ending?

Oh man...the post credits scene allows for more to come!
I love the ending scene with Aloy. A beautifully done cinematic. Made me a bit emotional when I watched it the first time.

As soon as Hades was introduced I kind of knew they were going to build more after the game. I personally am intrigued to where it goes, but I also agree that they could’ve just ended it where Aloy was.

Well, all the AIs are out there in the world somewhere. But the giant machines around the landscape suggest was another machine war we don't know about at some time before HZD but after the Faro war
