It's PaulD's audio solution (the one that uses CDAudio.dat and CDAudio.mp3).
The music doesn't change.

What does that have to do with using the rerendered soundtrack with TR2Main?
If you follow my post correctly, you should be able to use the rerendered soundtrack with TR2Main. You do not need PaulD's audio solution.

If you're having TR2 audio problems in general, perhaps try clearing TR2 registry settings as a last resort.

Rename/delete "audio" folder and wrap whatever you want and the way you want.

Thumbs up Thanks for the help.

Thanks to you both, I've managed to get it working fine now. Turns out I was missing the 320kbps MP3s and DLL Files.

I have it all set up and the required files (audio folder and DLL files ONLY) compressed to a zip folder, would it be OK to upload it?

It's just for those that don't want to go the the hassle of renaming.

I will of course credit you both for your help and of course tomekkobialka.

I'm having trouble getting these to work with my TR2. I have the GOG version on Windows 10.

I'm using TR2Main, but I have a folder called 'music' that has all the separate audio tracks named Track02 etc. but if I replace one of these with one of the rerenderd tracks nothing changes, even though Ive changed the names.

However I also have an 'audio' folder with cdaudio.dat and cdaudio.mp3 but if I delete those I get no music at all.

So I'm a little confused as to how to get this work.

As you have mentioned that you get no audio when you delete/remove the 'audio' folder containing cdaudio.dat and cdaudio.mp3, this tells me that your music folder is not functioning correctly. That music folder (judging by the "Track02" filename) probably contains GOG's ogg files, and you may have some DLL files in the main folder associated with it such as sound.dll and audiere.dll. This solution doesn't always work correctly from what I've read. The rerendered soundtrack files are in mp3 format; you could convert these files to ogg format and copy them to your music folder, but you'd need to make sure you use the ogg filenames instead of the Steam ones - that being "Track02" "Track03" etc, rather than "02" "03". For ogg music files, these 2 DLL files need to be placed within your main game folder. Also remove/backup 'sound.dll' and 'audiere.dll' if they are present.

Clarification for ogg files:

Choral Tomb Raider - rename to "Track56"
Incidental 1 - rename to "Track35"
Incidental 2 - rename to "Track39"
Incidental 3 - rename to "Track51"
Incidental 4 - rename to "Track42"
Incidental 5 - rename to "Track57"
Incidental 6 - rename to "Track37"
Incidental 7 - rename to "Track44"
Incidental 8 - rename to "Track45"
Incidental 9 - rename to "Track32"
Main Theme - rename to "Track60"
Maria Doria Ambience - rename to "Track54"
Mysterious Ambience - rename to "Track55"
Reverse Secret - rename to "Track38"
Secret - rename to "Track43"
Short 1 - rename to "Track50"
Short 2 - rename to "Track20"
Short Choral - rename to "Track34"
Snowmobile Escape! - rename to "Track49"
Snowmobile Theme End - rename to "Track48"
Tension 1 - rename to "Track33"
Tension 2 - rename to "Track31"
Tension 3 - rename to "Track46"
Tension 4 - rename to "Track47"
Venice Violins - rename to "Track36"
Vertigo - rename to "Track41"
