Wow that warrior. Very very pro and ominous, looks like the head could rotate and emit eye lasers.

It will be for the editor once I finish cleaning up the model.

I built my first weapon in Meta this morning, I'm not sure whether it looks good and whether it's too detailed for the engine Sloppy work because I'm still new to the modelling thing. |

I think the lower part of the handle is probably too detailed, yeah. Other than that, though, it looks good IMO.

I think you can keep the same shape but with a lot less faces and vertices. Tiny bends like that to make something look rounder are usually not needed in the editor, not to mention the fact that vertices get snapped to whole XYZ values anyway, so there's more chance of things ending up looking crooked. So I think the bending could be made less and still look good. Same goes for the long thicker part of the barrel. That can also be simply one tube instead of the segmented tube you have now. And the segmenting in the middle of that metal thingy connecting the two barrels is not needed if they are simply flat rings. Other than that, the gun looks good. |

1. The handle can be done with just two quads covered with tiles using transparency for finger holes. 2. Top and bottom vertices of the barrel can be joined - they'll mostly appear near each other anyway. 3. The clip doesn't need the middle row, you can just find a texture which simulates it. 4. After all: - if there's more than one object: go to Object Panel > Misc > Merge all - that will avoid strpix error - Object > Join closed vertices > 0.00 - that will kill the duplicates IF the object was merged already - View > Document Information > Lines - there should be 0, if not you should find and delete them. I always try to handle a mesh below 256 vertices to make sure my object will work in all engines. But sometimes that many aren't even needed. Last edited by DJ Full; 04-08-16 at 11:37. Thank you so much for the feedback and tips everyone! I really do appreciate it and I'll get those suggestions worked into it. For a first model I haven't done bad

Making my first object to release in TRLE ^^ Figured it's about time I contributed to the community.
What do you guys think? Should I leave it like it is, or join the metal beams? Like this: (Minus the stretched textures of course) Maybe I should release both in case someone wants it Last edited by VictorXD; 05-08-16 at 21:55. |
