I may be able to finally migrate some of my own resources and assets to there instead of hosting them on here

Thanks for your feedback. This is indeed forum software and I planned on disabling replies so we can use it as a library. The software is pretty customisable in this regard. However I'm also happy to work on a bespoke platform if you would prefer this.

Thank you for your work. The TRLE community appreciates your efforts towards helping us.

I hope it won't be difficult to create a website like that.

It could get confusing when combined with the forums.

Perhaps a separate site purely for that purpose would be better? Dunno how these things work, so not sure how costly that is..
I also agree with this too. Though I know that Nexus is quite expensive to run and manage, but that also could be because of the massive traffic volumes they get. TRLE is a fairly small community by comparison, so it would probably be more manageable. Not to mention that TRLE assets tend to be smaller in size given the nature of the engine etc, so hopefully it wouldn't be as expensive to host everything.

Anyway, thank you for doing this for us TLR.

Question

Final pass before I bin the forum idea and look for alternatives.

https://www.tombshare.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1

A download with a preview image of the download. Ignore the 'forum-esque' layout, this can all be changed. I'm talking about functionality.

1. User registers
2. User uploads binary with accompanying preview image to appropriate category
3. Everyone (regardless of membership status) can download

Can the community make this solution work?

Yea... I don't think a forum approach is going to work.

If we are going to switch to a website format similar to trsearch, the community has to get together and discuss possible designs before work is actually done.

I think this could work. One of the main issues with sharing resources was the lack of a reliable hosting for the files. People could use file sharing websites, but their links usually expire unless the uploader has a paid plan and the person sharing had to take care of the links. Having a website like TRSearch removed the hassle of worrying about one's uploads, you just upload your resource(s) once and your done, they stay there for as long as the website is alive. I say give this a try.

Can work I think.
As long as there is a good search feature to go with it.
