I did always find it alarming that even with Rhianna Pratchett on board Tomb Raider (2013) suffered from this.

Another important thing when either hiring or directing Lara's voice actor is to ensure it is understood that there are regional accents in the UK. I've noticed that a lot of fans outside the UK seem to think, for example the cockney accent would be suitable for Lara. I've seen Evie out of Assassins Creed: Syndicate thrown out as a suggestion, but I'm sorry her accent is all wrong.
Well that is a very interesting point and for me correct. The writers should be the one to define the correct "slang" to use.
Even here in Italy there is a load of difference between even neighboring region...

Agreed. Young still womanly and has a little rasp to it. Sexy.

Someone completely new for me please.

Not Camilla, not Alicia, not someone very or quite famous, a relatively unknown but extremely good voice actor.

The American slangs were mandated my CD though, because "people wouldn't recognize British slangs". Rhianna said it herself, and the more "British" way the comics she worked on were written tell us it really might be the case.

As for voice actor, I'm sort of indifferent. I really liked how Camilla evolved from TReboot to SotTR. The difference in her performances are staggering. But I wouldn't mind a different actor as well.

I'd prefer if Camilla stayed both because I liked her performance in Shadow (where she and Earl had more freedom with the script) and how it evolved through the three games as well as for the sake of consistency. As an alternate I could certainly see Alicia stepping into the role if she wanted it.

Even though Camilla's performance improved greatly for SOTTR, to me she never felt quite the right choice for Lara's voice. It wasn't just the accent and the overdramatic delivery of her lines, but even her pitch I always felt was a bit too high for Lara.

So personally, I would prefer a voice actress that actually nails the accent (preferably an actual English actress - so no Alicia Vikander for me) and that has a lower pitch than Camilla's.

Someone like Vanessa Kirby for example. When rewatching Mission Impossible Fallout, I remember thinking she had a really nice voice that I think would really suit Lara.

"People wouldn't recognise British Slangs."

I learned about some British stuff from Lara in the old games. (Jackanory for instance.) and I enjoyed that, I like it when games have sayings/slang from other languages, like Stalker with "Ah nu cheeki breeki iv damke" (Basically stacking two pieces in checkers to make a king, or "Shoot him in the f******* head" in the apparently real Russian Slang that in-game bandits use.),

Reminds me of how some translations of Japanese stuff try to Westernise it. (I know it's not to quite the same extent.)

I don't feel you should limit slang and other stuff because you're worried audiences wouldn't understand it, audiences are not stupid, they can realise Lara's using British slang/references and look them up if they're curious, people can handle foreign slang/languages.

If there's anything that would drive me instantly away form the franchise, it would be if she voiced the games

Who should voice Lara in the next game?
Someone with native classy british accent. Similar to Shelley Blond or Jonell Elliott.
