AOD Readded Dual Pistol Pickups Mod
Hello everyone,
While messing around with AOD files recently I figured out how to replace what pickups give to your inventory. With this knowledge, I am making a mod that replaces certain items in some levels vith Dual Pistols instead. After all these years we will finally be able to have pickups for them without having to cheat. Downloads are available NOW! I would recommend using the ones that have the recommended tag next to them. Only install the other options if you specifically want those instead. What is included with the download so far is: -Replaced dartgun and its ammo with Dual Vectors and a Vector clip in Rennes' Pawnshop -Replaced single Vector with dual Vector's in Louvre Galleries (RECOMMENDED) -Replaced Rigg09 to dual Vector's in Von Croy's Apartment -Added a dual Vector pickup to the back of the Cleaner's truck in Monstrum Crime Scene (RECOMMENDED) -Replaced single Scorpion X pickup with dual Scorpion X pickup in Strahov Fortress (RECOMMENDED) -Changed some ammo to Vector clips on various levels so that ammo doesn't run out fast (RECOMMENDED) You can see a test version I did in Monstrum Crime Scene here (text is fixed on final version): Known issues that are not able to be fixed: -Sometimes the pickups won't look like Vector's on the game world (they work fine after being picked up) -In Von Croy's apartment, Vector's will make no sounds. I would not be able to do this without the tools of the AOD modding legends nakamichi680 and sasho648 so a huge thank you to them! V1.01 - Found small issue in Monstrum Crime Scene modifications and fixed it V1.02 - Added 3 additional scorpion clips and got rid of an infinite ammo pickup in Strahov Fortress. V1.05 - Monstrum Crime Scene redone with no pickups removed, also included fix for the strange looking normal map in Vasiley's. Added Recommended tags to which ones I think are the best. I honestly thought this was something we'd always have to do without short of cheating them in to the game. Just when I think there are no more surprises to what we can restore to this game, I'm pleasantly proven wrong! I'm so excited about this! Not even the PS2 has this natively. Slowly but surely this game is getting restored to what Core intended somewhat.
Also, I don't see the item pickup image being the single pickup as an issue. The way I see it, you are essentially still picking up another pistol to make two even though the pickups themselves become duals. It's probably how Core would've done it anyway had they got to include the combine feature to allow creating dual pistol setups in the first place. The only thing I'm wondering about is Nakamichi's fixes. Since I'm sure this involves editing the level files themselves, is this built upon those edits? I want duals of course, but I want my fixed levels too lol. Last edited by Jathom95; 04-05-21 at 16:20. |

Thanks so much for your work! Now if we only could get the sound to work on the vectors in von croys apartment and replace the pickup meshes with the actual pistols

"patch" is a misnomer b/c they're all collections of level files. it does appear that at least the relevant files i wanted (extra magazines in bio research facility, dual vectors in the louvre, dual vectors from the cleaner's van, dual scorpions next to luddick's corpse) all contain and are compatible with slayer's levels + slayer's cutscenes + nakamichi's fixes Last edited by LateRaider; 19-05-21 at 00:19. |
