Sure, who cares if women exist anymore. Pretty clothes and makeup define biology. Lara croft is a costume anyway right? Literal years of women fighting for their rights is less important than an accent on a character.

With fans like these this franchise is doomed.

No, physical transition is a thing. I don't hate anyone but as a woman I don't appreciate my biology being treated like a costume anyone can put on and take off when they feel like it. The suggestion a man play Lara Croft was just too much for me to not voice my outrage. But I will respect your feelings to not want to discuss it and will end the conversation now that I've stated my opinion that absolutely not and never should a man have the privilege of playing such an important female icon.

You should be able to voice concern over your own sex without it being labelled as hate lol. It's a weird time where we are at, women are being oppressed by men (and some women) but in an entirely new way.

I didn't want to invalidate your concern, Soma and I thought it was another discuss. I just wanted to say I find disrespectful to call this trans woman a dude in purpose, and who only do drag. This is the only reason why I found your response kinda "hating". I also didn't want to pursue the talk because I don't know anything about this trans actress so I would avoid to say nonsense about her (if it's not already the case

I just wanted to say, many trans take their situation very seriously and it's not just wearing a costume. Hell this is surgery, it's not a light decision. They just wanted to feel better in their body. On the contrary, those who decide to do this for fun... must be a very very special case of a minority. As far as I believe this is paranoia to think otherwise.

Gender politics were confusing enough when there were just two of them.

Transitioning is a personal freedom everyone is entitled to. I have always felt that way and only re-iterate it every time I post about Transism because if there has been one so very cancel-happy movement, it had been the extremists who revel in victimhood.

It's kind of like when Jenner won Woman of the Year and all the edgelords were like "Haww, even a man is better at being a woman than women are!!". It's the same reason I don't want people who were born male in women's competitive sports or prisons or unisex housing.. if Lara was born Lawrence or whatever it would change absolutely EVERYTHING about her character

Can we just keep Lara Croft as a symbol of what has historically been called "the weaker sex" smashing through all her hurdles and being an example to little girls that they can be whatever they work to become?
