I don't know why I smell the next TR to be a timed exclusive on ps5.

I think PlayStation timed exclusivity is just reserved for Final Fantasy. I'm not sure they'd follow the same tactic with Tomb Raider. Unless Sony paid well enough...?

Well they got nothing to lose with Sony exclusivity because it always sells best on PS even now, if it was exclusive timed or not even more people would buy it because they'd instantly assume great quality. Still funny how rise was xbox exclusive but sold the least on xbox lmaoo

I mean realistically, all Xbox consoles have sold less than their PlayStation counterparts, and sometimes even sold less than Nintendo's so it's no surprise games sell more on PlayStation.

Ideally I would like for as many people as possible to be able to play the games, but if Xbox is going all Monopoly by buying developers like there's no tomorrow Sony should do something to cock block their advance and Square Enix have always been buddies with Sony so maybe at this point PlayStation (timed) exclusives are inevitable.

Sony won't be able to match MS movement in terms of money. MS has way more money, PSNOW cannot keep up with XCloud. Even MS has said that their biggest competitors are Amazon and Google, I think the subscription model will be the future of gaming and Sony is very lame on that department for now. Additionally, Sony uses Azure from MS, so if they're going streaming and subscription as main model that means more profit for their competitors.

Well, in that case I'll better start looking for an alternative hobby. I cannot stand subscription-based services, because they usually make me pay for stuff I don't need.

I doubt subscription model will ever be the future of gaming. Games cost way too much to produce to be based off of a subscription. It's not like game company's make money per viewer/subscriber like actual streaming company's do per subscriber like netflix, hulu, or Amazon.

They are probably convenient at best. Also many people do not have the internet to access that kind of feature. Microsoft could embrace a full subscription model, but gaming as a whole would never embrace it as they don't have money to be made in it. Microsoft can throw away money because they have an infinite supply of it thanks to Windows and PCs.

The sub model will be a thing, it's already a thing, it's the reason why a lot of people choose Xbox. Maybe not the main model or the same model we think/know, but it's going to get more protagonism, people have proven to be interested in it. MS has said that when they release games in the Gamepass, the sales of those games go higher. The attractive in MS acquiring Bethesda is that their clients will have games like TES6 and Fallout at 10$ while 70-80 in other platforms, I don't think it'll work as much as we think but it's a step that may define what's coming if it works.

If Microsoft have said that they don't fear Sony for the future is for a reason, Sony can be bought by other huge business like Amazon, or at least merge with other company.
