Campfires are an excellent addition to the franchise. I always imagined Lara would settle down by one in between levels . I mean, those hidden tombs and temples were not five minutes from the nearest hotel. Otherwise any odd person would be finding them.

I would like health bar to return, as it was more precise for health management. I found the blood and black/white screen to be fuzzily. I know it's a bit more immersive but actually not that much, as it makes it look really like a drone camera stalking Lara.

Shadow of the tomb raider isn't immersive at all and feels like a modern level editor game especially the dlc tombs not being part of the world

I can't stand AOD, but I doubt that's controversial So:

Tomb Raider 2 is not a good game. It's got a great opening level, and good final levels, but what happens in between is bad.

To put a finer point on it, I think the Venice levels are pretty meh, although Opera House has its moments and feels relatively tomb-y. The Rig is not fun, and I find it spectacularly dull (also... who the hell thought that ladder was a good idea?) The Maria Doria is, IMO, the worst set levels in the first three classics, and the colour scheme is repetitive as hell. Probably too ambitious for what technology could do at the time. Tibet is better but still not fantastic - I don't like Tibetan Foothills in particular. All of these levels suffer from far too many human levels, and the level design feels bloated and unfocussed.

The vehicles both control horribly and feel very loose (that being said, I do enjoy how integral the boat feels to Venice as a level, and I think its usage is clever).

The game's closing section is very good, but I still don't like how numerous the human enemies are still - and as much as I enjoy the final few levels generally, they're still a little long and could have used some editing.

The story also feels uninvolved very low-stakes. The villain only seems to present himself to proverbially shake his fist and twiddle his moustache to remind us there's meant to be a plot driving the action forward. Where's the charm of Natla, or TR3's more eclectic cast? Even Eckhardt felt more present as a threat.

Finally, the music. This is the nitpick-iest thing and totally personal but outside of Venice Violins which is an absolute bop, I don't enjoy the music. I enjoyed TR1's more straightforwardly melodic music, or TR3's brilliant take on the main theme, or even Chronicle's more percussive style. It's just very, blah.

There's my unpopular opinion
