Default Fourth Matrix film starring Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss

Ready to enter the Matrix once more? Lana Wachowski is making a new Matrix film with core actors Keanu Reeves and Carrie Anne Moss back to reprise the roles they last played 18 years ago.

Let me guess, Matrix 2 and 3 are no longer canon and this is the TRUE sequel to the first

Actually, I don't think I'd mind that. Revolutions sucked as an ending, it just felt so... anticlimactic. It ruined the buildup Reloaded had.

I think, however, it will actually be a fourth film. The Wachowskis co-wrote three expanded universe materials and they're all canon to the first three films. One of those materials takes place post-Revolutions and they hint at the survival of both Trinity and Neo (while Morpheus has disappeared).

This would be a dream come true, I have always hated the second and third movies.

Matrix should have not been a trilogy. It has been a forced trilogy.
The fourth title only confirm that was not a trilogy but a good idea with minor sequels, like Rocky.
Anyway, I'll watch it for sure. I don't want to judge things before knowing them.

If this retcons Reloaded and Revolutions then I am in. But if it's a sequel to those then I am very confused.

B-b-but I liked the sequels and the ending...

I just hope it isn't an origins story or a reimagining of the first movie.

I love Reloaded, it was my favourite of the trilogy. Revolutions was quite disappointing though.

I have hard time to imagine a sequel to them. It seems really the end, especially for Neo and Trinity. I wonder how Lana will resurrect them and if it does well hopefully it will be convincing.
