In fairness WB is secretly rallying the movie and probably trying to knock it into the 50 percentile range on Rotten Tomatoes as a new batch of fresh reviews were released.

At least that yahoo article also said the movie did make its money back with the international market, so I think it is really safe to assume it broke even

But if a sequel gets made, we really need a much better marketing campaign, even if the budget gets lower.

I watched Maze Runner 3 and they must hire Wes Ball for the sequel. Seriously, that man did magic with a low budget. The film has a great direction of photography, great action, different places and everything with a low budget ...

Even if there was some marketing when the movie was released, for me the first trailer (I liked it but the second one was so much better) and the first poster (with that weird neck that almost became a meme with that dinosaur thing) are the things that mostly killed the movie.
