Could someone please advise on how to get joytokey to work? I cannot control the camera with the controller (xbox360)

This is for XInput controllers.

1. Download the profile I posted back here. https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...postcount=1359

2. Download JoyToKey. It's free! https://joytokey.net/en/download

3. Extract JoyToKey and the profile.

4. Put them both in the same folder.

5. Launch JoyToKey and be sure the profile is selected.

6. Launch TR:AoD while JoyToKey is still running.

7. At the title menu, go to Options -> Controls -> Keyboard.

8. Click "Default" and exit.

9. Next, go to Options -> Controls -> (your controller name here).

10. Ensure it's set to "Enabled".

11. Click "Default".

12. Bind the buttons as I suggested in my earlier post, linked in Step 1. (Be sure to unbind Stealth, Duck, Cycle Weapons Up, and Cycle Weapons Down in order for the profile to work properly. To unbind an input, hover over it and press Enter as if you were going to bind it, then press Esc to clear the binding.)

13. Now to to Options -> Controls -> Mouse.

14. Go to Sensitivity; move the slider all the way to the left, then move it to the right by one notch.

15. Optionally, set your Y and X Axes how you want. (Default axes have RStick Right look left, and RStick Up look down. What AoD considered "inverted axes" are considered normal axes in modern games.)

16. Exit the Controls Menu.

17. Click "Switch Movement Type (PC - PS2)" to use camera-relative controls. You have to do this last step each time you launch the game, for now.

Weapon switching is bound to Draw Gun + Crouch (Y+LT or △+L2) and Draw Gun + Stealth (Y+RT or △+R2). Since you can't use the D-Pad or Right Stick for this purpose, this way made the most sense.

Edit - I might try to make a video for this lol

(In order for the profile to fully work, you will have to unbind the weapon cycle hotkeys, duck, and stealth by pressing esc when attempting to rebind them)

Lastly, under the main options menu click on the movement type change to switch to PS2 controls
Thank you

Hey @reborninshadow. Good morning or afternoon.

Just passing by to ask. Did you have the opportunity or enough time to evolve with anything related to the dual aiming, or are there any expectations you can share with us regarding the next release? 🥹

I don't have much to share at the moment. Right now I am a little bit busy and I'm mostly focusing on doing level changes and adjustments for both my project and TRJTA's upcoming Definitive Edition demo release.

Hey guys I'm gonna start my first ever playthrough of AoD and I would like some advice with the mods/patches to get the best experience possible. The FAQ in the OP explains it pretty good but I guess my main question or confusion is what patches/mods to install alongside the main Modpack. I know there's the AoD patcher but also AoD Rescued? Should I install one or the other or both. And also should I go for all the options as a first time player or are there some options in there that are more experimental in nature?

Also I'm planning on playing with a controller using Joy2key like I did with previous TRs and I do have a profile already that I found for AoD but since it's gonna be the patched version should I go for the one LateRaider described? I usually use a PS3 or PS4 controller with DS4Windows.

Right now it's a little fragmented since it's a WiP. Sorry about that.

1. Install TRAOD Rescued, as much of it as you can stand at least lol
https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...22&postcount=1

2. Install TRAOD Restoration Project - Alternate Version and the Transitional Update
https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...d.php?t=226260

3. Plop in the EXE update for Restoration Project
https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...postcount=1357

4. Use the JoyToKey profile to use your controller with DS4Windows
https://www.tombraiderforums.com/sho...postcount=1362

Hope this helps a bit.

The final version of "Rescued" (Which won't be called Rescued anymore at that point) will incorporate the entire Alternate Version of Restoration Project. But Restoration Project is essentially a passion project by a dedicated fan in his spare time, finalizing an unfinished game with insufficient tools, so progress is slow.

Thank you for all the steps @LateRaider it was helpful. I think I managed to do everything and the game runs fine. The controls definitely take some getting use to and I'm not sure if they're working properly or I'm doing something wrong. I followed all the instructions but for some reason the mouse movements that are supposed to be done with the right stick don't work in game. The cursor moves in Windows, but the camera doesn't move in the game. I don't know if it's the camera-relative controls, but I turned off Joy2Key and tried the regular controls and it felt a bit better, more intuitive and more like TR 1-5, so maybe that works better for me?

However the biggest problem I have is that the game is not saving! When I click save it gives me the Save successful message but when I go to load there's nothing I don't know if it's a known issue related to the patches or something specific to my system.

*Edit: Nevermind I did a quick search and found the solution for the saving issue.

That's strange. Maybe you needed to run JoyToKey as an administrator? Also, are you sure your mouse is turned on in AoD control settings?
