Anniversary was one of the best looking games on the PS2. Too bad that's all it had to offer.

Sorry to say, but I didn't like the HD remastered images posted. The textures have string bump look, and some overexposure of light as well.
I think they were better. |

I'm really sorry, but I'm also not satisfied with the computer version, and I don't think it's modifiable. Because it lacks details. Looks incomplete compared to the ps3 version. |

Whatever effects/filters you are using to modify the textures, it is creating a repeated noticeable pattern on most, more so on stone than anything. It looks all wrinkled as it is the easiest way to describe what I can see.

I am not a fan of ground tile texture in any of the screenshots. Looks like someone cranked up photoshop's liquify tool to the max and went insane with it.

I believe the issue people're noticing has to do with the "Scale" and "Shine" settings in that filter.
Increasing Shine adds dramatic highlights and shadows to the effect, making it seem like there image has a sandpaper-y texture. Increasing Scale makes the effects of all the other settings more pronounced, like the strokes/bumps are bigger. Tweaking these settings for the different materials/locations you're working with may provide less overtly stylized results. That said, what you've done so far is a pretty amazing achievement, and if you're in love with your current style, just stick to it. After all, a big part of making art is getting to create something that you enjoy. |
