Great to hear about the remaster! I previously played Alan Wake only on PC, in low resolution (I didn't have a good enough computer.) and nevertheless the game was awesome. I liked its story, atmosphere and gameplay.

I'll buy and play the remaster on PS5 with joy. It wasn't that easy for Remedy to bring Alan Wake back. They had to acquire publishing rights from Microsoft which they did in 2019 and now the game will obtain a PlayStation release and will be no longer an Xbox exclusive.

Well, that makes my purchase of the original from a few weeks ago kinda obsolete.

Maybe I can still apply for a refund

The release date of the remaster has been confirmed during the PlayStation showcase. It is October 5. So it's next month! The wait won't be long.

Looks like its getting a physical release everywhere too, and only $30. Good on Epic Games for not overpricing it and actually making sure a budget went into the remaster.

I replayed this pretty recently, so I don't think I'm going to be purchasing the remaster anytime soon. Hope this means a sequel is in the works again though!

Epic games does have them under contract for a triple A game, guarantee its Alan Wake 2.

There's now a video comparing both versions of Alan Wake.

What's noticeable is the Energizer brand is now removed from the torch. I wonder if Epic Games will be on all the billboards near the end of the game.

I think with Control establishing that things happen in real time that there's a lot of potential to shake things up. It's clear 10 years in the dark place has given Alan a level of control over things so it will allow for a slightly different take for AW2. Not too different though I hope. I do have an idea of how they might tie things together too.
