In the meantime I've joined a one week portrait challenge, it was incredibly useful and a lot of fun! I've learned so much in just a few days - still a long way to go, I chose an easier reference to paint and I didn't go crazy with the stylisation, but finally for once I'm mostly happy with the result

It ended up being incredibly detailed (my hand felt like it was going to fall off after a whole day of detailing, but most of it was actually fun). Some close ups so details are more visible:

You're work is AWESOME!!
And for just having started with the fundamentals I think your proportions and composition already look really well.

P.S. Make sure to do some stretches with your hands and take breaks every hour so you can keep on drawing in the future! There are a lot of toturials online on how to keep your body healthy while drawing for hours and it's quite important to prevent lasting damage.
Otherwise just keep on going and I'm sure you're only going to get even better

Thank you all so much for your feedback, it means a lot to me

@RavannaCar: thank you so much for the advice! Taking breaks will be the hardest challenge for me for sure, my eyes and my back sure hated me after the latest session, it's just so easy to lose myself in the process and even forget about eating and drinking for half a day.

After posting the portrait I got a request from a friend to do a horse portrait, quite a scary one for me as I don't think I've ever drawn animals properly before, let alone horses, but it came out better than I expected.

Then I went crazy for secret santa and made a portrait (she totally deserved the special treatment though)

And a bit late for Christmas, but I wanted to try doing a quick study... which ended up taking 6-7 hours and I just had to stop at some point, so mistakes are there, but at least I've learnt a couple of things in the process.

Merry Christmas ya filthy animals
My New Year's resolution is to make a couple of paintings of Lara as well.
