More than likely but what happens when the illusion of a purposeful end to the the saga is gone? Doesn't bode well for their next 10 Star Wars movies.

From what I've heard the whole ticket sale story is coming from a company whose shares are mostly owned by Disney, so it's not out of the realm of possibility that it was Disney who told them to say that.

There can be more movies not having to do with the Skywalker story. I wish Kathleen Kennedy would take a long break. Ain't going to happen.

I don't know why they don't do what Lucas did. Release a trilogy, then have the following trilogy that acts as a prequel to the original one. There's a lot that could be done to flesh out the current trilogy, such as Kylo's life prior to his turn to the darkside and the rise of the First Order.

Unfortunately, from what I've heard it appears that Rian's new set of movies will be set after Rise of Skywalker and could continue with Rey. I have to say this doesn't particularly excite me as Rey has as much personality as a bag of flour.

The last Star Wars movie I am going to watch is the upcoming one, anything else after that I won't accept as canon. I've been disappointed enough by the Last Jedi.

This movie will do well just because it's a star wars movie. It doesn't matter whether its good or not at the end of the day.

Incorrect: Solo was a Star Wars movie and it lost money. So the spell of invulnerability has been broken.

It's hard to pin the blame squarely on Solo, given that many people were voicing intent to boycott it after TLJ. Did Solo lose money merely because it wasn't that great a film, or because it was also coming so soon off the back of a film that angered so many people for so many different reasons?

As far as Solo being an unsuccessful SW film, to what extent is it considered a SW film? I know it's got it in the subtitle, and has a couple of important characters, but it's not really part of the main story in any way. Take it out and it doesn't make one bit of difference to the established saga.

Oh yes, I do believe The Last Jedi is in large part responsible for the failure of Solo, as well as all the downvotes on the Rise of Skywalker trailer.
