Default Level Ending Glitch in Diving Area? (Remastered)

I'm not sure what to do besides start over at this point.

I'm in Diving Area, the area with the water pool with the unreachable white block suspended over the water. In the tunnels you access from the pool, you throw a lever to give you access to the helo pad and the first machine chip.

According to the walkthroughs, the machine chip is supposed to open one of the doors releasing goons and giving you access to the other side of the pool through the "office."

But the door does not open after inserting the machine chip. Suggestions are welcome.

I thought the chip granted you access to the room with the pool that also contains the jade dragon, along with two goons, one of them with the flamethrower.

Classic mistake I think - the block is unreachable until you done a bit of extra work. As ^ said.

You've now realised your mistake but for anyone getting stuck there:-

SPOILER
The door the chip opens is not the 'office' but the door right next to the place you used the chip. Follow that route and things will work out fine eventually.

Interestingly in the final water area of that route you can do a not that easy but still doable short cut 'bendy' jump to the walkway around the pool and ultimately finish the level in at most half the time it normally takes.

I'm wondering if that is still possible in the remaster.

It is. And even easier with modern controls as she can curve with her jump even more.
