Yes, would have been neat to get up on the ice sheets floating on the water. As a scuba diver, I have done ice diving here in Canada - in a wet suit no less :eek (Not very often though, prefer down South and/or on an Island somewhere warm in a dive skin ). But, yes it is very cold.

along with "traps" in rise it was crystals way of telling us that they listen

i remember how mad i was that swimming didnt return after all and they just pretended like it did

It was a stepping stone to Shadow, where swimming returned in all it's glory.

Pretty sure I got her onto one once, but she only just made it.
She pretty much died thereafter though so was kind of pointless
