Very often these are selfmade photos from real life locations. You should check the Resident Evil 4 HD Project. The guy behind that actually traveled around photographing all the original textures again from the original locations where Capcom employees also made those photos. It's some serious dedication!

No it's exactly the same one. The crack is visible on the photo below right beneath Jesus.

Yes, I know, but what I meant is that the crack is not visible in the piece of the frieze which Nakamichi used for the texture. (Which isn't a big deal - it's just a tiny detail - just sth I noticed.)

^No, I mean the diagonal crack in the column just below (and a tiny bit to the left of) your red circle. You can see it in the photo Lyle posted, as well, so it's not sth Core added.

Looks like the head of an owl to me but it may well be sth entirely different.
