Imagine if Square/Crystal cared enough to update AOD or even the classics in any way.

I'm pretty sure Apyre(The developer that ported AOD to PC) could update AOD if SE/CD hired them.

They probably still have the source code for the pc version.

You mean Aspyr Media, who ported AoD from PC to Mac, right?

Yeah, sorry for the mistype.(It's kinda funny when I typed that I felt that the word feels a little off)

Aspyr recently ported Jedi Knight 2 to PS4 and Switch. So I think they are capable to remaster AOD with some improvements.

Edit: sorry I thought that they were the ones that made that PC port.

That's sadly rare.

I know some old games (such as the Commandos series and Desperados 1) got updates to make them work better with modern systems but those aren't too common sadly outside of GOG.

I do wish we'd somehow get to mod AOD more, like placing more enemies/adding the Dual Pistols as a pick-up.

Thank you for summarizing everything so well! <3

I thought I knew everything that went down, but it's even more tragic than I thought. *cries*

It makes me so sad and angry reading all of this again. Also some new information I never knew. I feel so sorry for Core. AOD was a perfect storm of wanting to make the wrong thing at the wrong time.

If only AOD would get remade properly in the future...

Your wish has been granted. Sasho was modding the AOD maps by placing more objects in them, I don't know which tool does that though.

Unfortunately as far as I know we can't modify the collision maps yet or add new areas, but nakamichi680 has been fixing up the graphical glitches in the levelmeshes.

Wow, I did swear I'd seen a vid like this long ago but I figured I'd imagined since I couldn't find it.

I know there was a download for Aquatic Research Area with one of the bug/beetle enemies re-enabled but that crashed the game when you killed it, yet in this vid the Sanitarium inmates are killed without crashing.

I'd love to have a PS4 port of the game, wouldn't even care about a remaster, just a port (with the PC version)
