I bet on the live action TV show Lara will be trying to figure herself out still. They will play up this reboot survival trauma grief era forever.

Good news there’s a rumor saying Amazon won’t be moving forward with the live action series lol. I think the franchise really needs some reevaluation before CD screws anything else up.

Also, if you really did, you wouldn't write stuff like that.

When it comes to grief, it was shown multiple times troughout the trilogy, how she handles it.
From Grim's death, to the therapy session trailer, to returning to Yamatai, just for getting Alex's pocketwatch to her sister, and more.
She always acted the same way, it's actually one of the few consistent things about her.
She has experienced grief but didn't pass through it. The therapy session doesn't really take that road. She does have a survivor guilt tho.

This rumour is just what some "insiders" think of the project. Wich doesn't mean anything some insiders has been wrong in the past.

How long has this rumour been flying about, because just a few weeks ago they announced it will go into production next year with the search for Lara starting very soon.

This animated show is supposed to bridge the Reboot with TR1, though. Tasha Huo mentioned it in this short update video from two years ago, and it was also emphasised as recently as in this new interview we're all puzzling over now.

Nerdist: Tell us a little bit more about how this series fits into Tomb Raider‘s overall game universe and why this time period made sense.

Tasha Huo: This series takes place after the Survivor trilogy and really acts as a bridge between the origin story to the Lara that we fell in love with in the ‘90s when we first started picking up the games. That Lara was very quippy, very confident. I wanted to explore how she became that person.

There might also have been other mentios of this over the years. So, yeah not sure what exactly Hartmann is talking about.

It looks entertaining enough to give it a watch, if only for the many easter eggs I’m sure they put into it… but it’s time to move on, we’ve been through the same plot for more than a decade now, we’re all tired of it.

Really? That would be great news, indeed. I hope that they will cancel the anime after a few episodes too.

The rumor mill is on fire today. There’s a lot of articles online but i’d have to pinpoint the original one. And let’s not forget the Misha Greene movie was confident in production before that ultimately got canceled as well. Hoping it’s true here. A live action series is so unnecessary. A movie is fine but TR falling into the generic 8 episode live action formula is something i’m good on.

With the success of Fallout, I would think Amazon would fast track the Tomb Raider show and be behind it 100% no matter how good or bad it was.

But it also wouldn't be the first time Bridge has pulled out of shows she was attached to as a creator. So who knows?
