I headcanon that reboot Lara is open to relationships with women, but is more “people-sexual” than anything else. As far as Sam goes, I never felt anything between them personally, but I definitely saw chemistry with Jacob and Unuratu.
I know everyone prefers Lara be asexual, but I’m not against exploring her sexuality in general or her orientation. |

She was supposed to be lesbian in TR2013, but higher ups said .
Personally I'm glad she isn't... I don't want Sam to die Tara Maclay style, that's why https://www.autostraddle.com/all-65-...y-died-312315/ Last edited by killchan; 06-04-19 at 21:07. |

more of asexual imo, if we're talking about the reboot version.

I always thought that reboot Lara was at least bisexual. I totally ship her and Sam and read an unhealthy amount of fanfiction on them But I wouldn't want a romance story included in the games if it took centre stage and detracted from what Tomb Raider is.

I did kind of headcanon classic Lara as being one of those trendy bi girls (you know the type with the "bad girl" persona who try anything) but we know she's into men because Kurtis. That said I don't view her as being the type open to anything serious with anyone, I can't see her desiring marriage and a fairly traditional family, unless she was absolutely swept off her feet unexpectedly anyway. Reboot Lara... idk. I assumed she was just straight but had friendzoned Jonah. I never saw anything there with Sam, they just seemed like a typical straight girl friendship. Yes Lara held her hand while escorting her from the temple but straight girls do **** like that, they can be hands on (and go to the bathroom together, all the time) and it not be sexual. Meh, don't care. Straight, gay or bi, I don't really want Lara's love life to be something explored in the games. Her love for adventure and ancient civilizations and secrets is what I want to see explored.
Hell, if they need to explore Lara's sexuality, make her asexual. That would actually be something quite interesting to explore and not often portrayed in most media. Hell the only fairly known asexual character I can think of is the comic's version of Jughead... Jughead, for crying out loud! |
