But yeah, a silent protagonist like TR1 would be amazing at this point.
I just want nice platforming and exploration. I'm sick of them trying to be Naughty Dog.

4 years?!?
I usually remember snapshots of what I was doing with my life while experiencing each TR but I barely retained anything from the Shadow era.

What I do remember was that teaser trailer where Lara rips across the jungle to save the kid from being sacrificed.. and then he runs from her! It was cool

Iirc, (played Shadow twice, apparently now a few years ago) it was replaced in the game by some kid hanging off a building in the mudslide (?) section screaming "Mommy! Mommy! AAAAAaaaaaaaaaa" and fell to his death. It was hilarious, but then Lara wasted time like, blaming herself for it and the usual ****

I mean... she did actually directly cause that, so I think thay was the one time she should have taken time to feel bad. As opposed to the self indulgent 'I'm making everything worse' moment which is both poorly timed and factually incorrect to the point I don't even see how she got there. It's like it was ripped from somewhere else in the game.

I s'pose.. but it whether it was deserved guilt or not was it really necessary to add so much self-doubt/hate to Lara's character?

Also I was wrong about it being the mudslide, it was the Tsunami. It's at 3:35 in this video. I don't know why I find it so amusing lol

Deadpool 2.
The moment where the Taxi driver says he wants to be a 10 year old Kirsten Dunst in the movie interview with a vampire. And scream I want more.

Not knowing how these Tomb Raiders are built.
Or who.

Get Norton lifelock.

Her most important person almost got killed. She feels she’s the one responsible for putting him in danger for persisting in pursuing her quest. She’s caused mass destruction in Mexico, and all the places she goes to. I think it’s pretty fitting as it’s the calm after the storm and once the adrenaline wears down she realizes the destruction she’s made and the people she endangered

She already had time to reflect on what happened in Mexico and she doesnt even mention jonah being alive. Its literally all 'me, me, me' and its totally unfitting with the moment in the game and the overall tone of a 'morally grey Lara' they're going for.

Had it been after the mudslide in Patiti (even though Paitit doesn't seem affected by it at all) or even in the next location when she witnesses the destruction of the earthquake; Fine. Had she been so overcome with emotion that she thought Jonah was dead, but he wasn't. Then that too would be fine. Bur she doesn't even acknowledge it. Its straight him into comforting her with no reference to the fact she may have lost her 'most important person'. That's the most unforgivable thing for me.

The reboot era is full of questionable writing that I can excuse or explain one way or another. But I will die on the hill that this moment is one of the worst written and paced in the entire era.
