Do you know China's mountains?One of them in Shanxi province named "huashan" near the temple of xi'an.I think floating island is "huashan"because it's scenario is similar to "huashan"

Probably one of the designers just created a really cool level and they just tried to put it in the game somehow.

The 'Floating Islands' make absolutely no sense whatsoever. It is simultaneously the hardest and the worst level of TR2. It's supposed to be beautifully abstract, but it's just nonsensical and frustrating.

I actually found Floating Islands quite easy to get through, the only times I fell off was when I just showed off |

It's not so much that it is a difficult level in terms of finishing the level and acquiring keys and such, but that it is frustrating. You fall off ledges often, and the flying enemies can be tough to kill.
