That's a lot of money to pay for a company with a seriously tarnished reputation that have pulled every studio and franchise they own down to focus solely on Call of Duty games. Bad move IMO.

I'm more surprised that it was legally allowed though, with monopoly and stuff

The IPs are reliable, get rid of the toxic people and you are good to go with them. With small adjustments they can make the money back very fast. Yeah, that it was allowed legally is a surprise for sure. As a PS fan this stings of course a bit, i was looking forward to Diablo 4...now it might be possible that the game wont Release on the playstation. Outside of that however, im not bothered since most of Activisions catalog doesnt interest me too much. But either way a incredible move that shakes things up quite a bit. |

Yeah no this is disgusting. I don't want to live in a world where the video game industry is monopolized. It would be even more infuriating if they pull the Elder Scrolls crap and try to make the next Spyro or Crash exclusive to Xbox.

I guess that's the end of Crash and Spyro for me. Time to vote with my wallet and say no to such acquisitions, if the regulatory bodies failed to do so.
This further proves that Microsoft knows nothing about gaming and nurturing gaming studios. Instead of creating and nourishing the town talent they just throw money at independent companies.

Honestly the only good thing for us might be Crash and Spyro, we know Activision had dropped them and got every studio they own moved to CoD development, so there was little to no chance of seeing another Crash or Spyro game under their leadership anytime soon. Now MS can always farm them out to their other studios. |

Edit Actually citizens in the US can contact the Justice department if they believe there is merit to an anti trust investigation. I'm going to send them an email just to see what happens. I know one person can't do anything, but still it's worth a shot. This deal cannot be allowed to happen.
