I started to build a small project to learn how to use Tomb Editor and wow.
I missed out so much on this ! I feel so dumb for switching to Tomb Editor so late. Everything is so stable and smooth. I still have a lot to learn again and I need to get more confortable with all the new stuff and how old stuff works now but wow ! Free to put any object in any position, the way lighting work is so much simpler ! I struggled a bit with texturing at first because I did not get right away that "selecting squares" thing but now I am fine. Also no more hair pulling with cutting a texture into a small triangle ! The way items are displayed they look so nice ! Going from one room to another just clicking on it... it's all so cool. Sorry I know I am late to the party but now that I started using it I am truly speechless by how cool this is ! I feel like my 10 years old self discovering TRLE for the first time ! (very excited but also very bad at using it ![]() I found video tutorials on youtube but I would like to know if there's any online written tutorials by any chance ? First of all, I apologise if something is not understood, as I use an online translator. My question is about traps. I'm using Tomb Engine, and I'm trying to put in my level the MOVING_BLADE (original name is Swinging Blade). When I play the level and activate them, they do damage to Lara, but they don't execute the swinging animation.

Seeing this video I've now started a project myself with TEN. I'm just exploring the nodes and it's so cool. This is a wonderful idea because I'm used to TRNG scripting.
I do have one question though, I'm using the nodes to add an effect to an enemy. But how would I add it to the mesh of the enemy? Like the flame effect, I notice it will kill the enemy, instead of adding a harmless flame to him. Thank you. |

Hi! Thank you for the good words! Indeed, node system was made to be a more intuitive and flexible replacement for TRNG trigger system, and it works on the same condition-action basis.
Regarding your question about adding effect - there are different nodes for that, I guess you are trying to use "Set moveable effect" node, which assigns an effect to moveable with certain gameplay outcome - be it deadly fire, electrical sparks or smoke. If you want to attach just a visual effect to a moveable, you should use different node type called "Particle generator (moveables)". It allows you to emit any kind of particles from a moveable, much like TRNG AddEffect command. |

Ahh okay thank you so much. I haven't just yet had the time to read the github link with a lot of useful information too. But the nodes add much excitement for newbies who want to get our hand dirty and try things out. I feel like a professional using Unreal Engine hehe.
