They never did that because this plot was meant to be for AoD

As well as that, I don't think that they actually cared.

if you look at the profanity-laden code, you can tell they didn't

TR Chronicles is a hot mess of a game. It took the worst things in a classic tomb raider game and put them all together in one single place:

- Stupid tightrope mechanics, making Lara's platforming EVEN slower. This was at a time that platformers were already at an all-time high like spyro and Crash. Lara in comparison was too slow for the time to crawl, turn around, shimmy across, climb ladders and the tightrope just highlighted how outdated the engine was becoming.

- Uninspired level design: especially the submarine one. that place is full of hallways and vents that look pretty much the same just so you'll get confused. the map in this game is full of cheap maze-like situations like that where you know you have to go somewhere but the gameplay is getting extended artificially by making you get lost in a dumb way. It's not like TRI where you feel intelligent and like you accomplished something when you finally find the way forward.

- Larson and Pierre playing dumb & dumber on the rooftops, and just Rome in general... what a strange level. How were those roman soldiers alive? Are they actual soldiers? crazy people in cosplay? We'll never know!

- The strange little song in the ireland level when you pick up the thingy, as brought up before.

- Red alert should be buried in the same pyramid Seth got locked in, so we'll never have to see that level again.

- Grappling gun.

- Lara looks like a Resident Evil Zombie when she puts on the diving suit.

- Unskippable cutscenes

- Kill the chef with a crowbar

- Lara wears a dress in the first cutscene, but in the game she's wearing shorts and the car that larson and pierre crashed just.. isn't there for whatever reason?

- ugly skybox. You can see the "walls" and the "ceiling" part of the sky, breaking immersion. TRIII was a lot prettier in that regard.

- statues that come to life in the Rome levels. How come nobody saw those things first?

- Zip being a sassy one-dimensional black sidekick. Legend Zip, and even Jonah with his Patrick Star's voice, sound a lot more fleshed out and better.

Now for the one thing I really did like in this game:
Lara casually having a chit chat with some random damned corpse hanging from a tree. Girl be trippy and had 0 ****s to give since the age of 16.
