I have the fullscreen patch installed already :/
I own the game on disc as well. I'll see if it runs better without the patch, if not I guess I'll just set it to windowed mode.

TR2 Gold works just fine with the widescreen patch. About the fullscreen border fix, you have to add a fix for tr2gold.exe with Compatibility Administrator tool, the same way it's done with tomb2.exe. I just did both procedures and it's perfect: widescreen resolution, correct camera distance and FOV values and full screen without border, exactly like TR2.

Hey there!

I followed this tutorial, but I realize that my installations may be slightly different, which could have caused a problem somewhere. I'm using a CD-ROM version of Tomb Raider 2 Gold, and the base folder I used was a modified version of the Tomb Raider 2 Steam version(it contains some extra DLL files to make the music work, which appear to be the same as the ones in the tutorial, and it also has 2 cdaudio files that were placed in the audio folder, SEPARATE from the music folder).

I followed the instructions best I could, copying some of the files directly from the CD, and downloading the other files provided in the tutorial.

Almost everything seems to be in order. The secrets are working, the game runs nice and quick, but the music doesn't play anymore.
The music was working perfectly before I copied over the DLL files and the new t2gold.exe, but then the secrets were bugged...

My folder doesn't appear to be missing anything according to the tutorial, but it's possible there were files in the OP's TR2 base folder that differ from the ones I have.
BTW I'm on Windows 7 64-bit.

Did you attempt to try just using Suikaze Raider's TRII Updater instead? It works with Steam. You're not the first person to have this issue, unfortunately. I'm not sure what the problem could be...

^Oh damn, sorry for not responding in so long! I'll try that and give you an update.

The thing is even the normal Steam version of the game doesn't have working music for me... I had to have someone else send me his installation with all the exact tweaking, and I'm not exactly sure what was required to make it work properly in the end.

Hey man, could you please send me this installation as well?I also have the Steam version of TR2, and I can't get the music to play on TR2 Gold. When I apply the fullscreen border fix, the music playbacks gets broken. I would like to give another try with this installation.

I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and had a problem myself of needing to add t2gold.exe to Garrett's fullscreen border removal patch, so I decided to just share the modified files with you all.
