Sorry to bump but I found a pretty big Easter Egg.. a movie reference.

Reservoir Dogs is on the TV right now, and I was watching some TR4 clips.

The opening garage area of Street Bazaar with the bleeding soldier is right out of that movie.. even down to the room textures, layout and position of objects.

The scene in the movie is where they leave some injured dude on a ramp in a similar looking garage.. sure Google will show images.
Its gory, so not gonna post links here.
Core Design was definitely crafty with this one

If you use your imagination, it does look heavily inspired.

I know about this temple. But she was probably in the Khufu's queens pyramids level It's only now that I realized it was 8 years ago

Ha thanks.. totally by accident. Never seen the movie before... it was on the TV as I was doing my TRLE stuff based on TR4.

It reminded me of the level and I thought, hey I wonder if... and looked up the TR4 level in question... and it just fit perfectly.

Sometimes the weirdest finds happen purely by chance huh

This should be documented somewhere.

Decided to check it out myself. Haven't played TR4 a lot, but seen the movie a couple of times. As soon as I saw the garage I recognized the place!

Best screenshot I could find at the moment. There is a ramp leading to a door, as well as a smaller door below and a car in a corner. Awesome find dcw123!

Those beetles in TR 4 look similar to beetles in Mummy 1999 movie.(But I don't know which one came out first)

That's more of a leftover of the game's development than an Easter Egg. The hidden temple wasn't specifically built to be inaccessible, it's just one of several rooms, a few of which are outside the map itself, that were there to help the level designers keep track of where everything was relative to each other when building cross-level gameplay.

Though whichever designer it was clicked 'texture all' with a topless statue texture to make it visible, rather than any of the other numerous ground and stone textures also in the level.
