Agreed. In a similar vein, I liked how Legend Lara was portrayed as more of a socialite with connections, good and bad, rather than being a total loner. It fit her charismatic personality really well. In general, I prefer Lara to have characters to bounce off of. Total isolation would be a bit boring.

Indeed ! I think a good compromise would be Lara to have local contacts in each countries who she would talk with in the start and the end of a section / level, but in-between she would raid alone.

Too bad Underworld wasn’t as exciting and interesting as Legend... All the urban areas were gone in favor of... dull grey corridors..............
_____________
That being said:

My only fav levels from Underworld are:
The prologue Croft Manor
Mediterranean Sea
The part from the beginning of Thailand till the statue/light puzzle courtyard

The rest? An honorable mention goes to Mexico and Andaman Sea. That’s it.....

^ It's not that bad from someone who hates the game so much (If I understand correctly your earlier posts haha). You could stand 60% of the game.

That being said, Arctic Sea from Lara's Shadow was so much more gorgeous looking and interesting to explore than the original one. I mean replace those boring grey corridor with those big golden and silver machines with deadly electric traps would do a big favour to the game.

Lara’s Shadow...
The most interesting level of Underworld,
tucked away as a DLC exclusively for Xbox 360 for eternity........

I'm not so sure, I prefer Beneath the Ashes to it.
I mean yes it's the most valuable, an entire new character with special features and finally an interesting hand to hand mechanics. It's a blast for the first hour, after that the level is awfully repetitive, what a shame. I love the traps and the slow mo / very fast platforming but the real Lara had much more varied platforming features for instance. It makes the platforming getting old fast.

It wasn't that interesting. It was actually kind of lame with Natla not being dead again...

I was astounded to see how Core Design-esque the Beneath the Ashes level was. Like wow, that was actually full on classic TR, if you minus the magnetic grabbing, ugly TRU animations and bunny hop-sized jumps.

It was THE definitive ending to the trilogy they created...
I honestly hate games that hide their true ending behind DLCs.

I love love love love love LOVE TR13. I don't know why. I just do. I can't help but love that game even with all it's flaws. It's my favourite Tomb Raider, and my second favourite game of all time.

I've also come to love Rise, even despite still thinking that it's wasted potential.
