When you can open a portal in more than one direction (with the usual method), then a panel pops up to choose the proper room, if the selection for the portal is:
- on floor/ceiling sector pairs, or - on room wall panels, and behind the panels eg. a room touches them above, or another one below. Till this, it works well. But this popup panel sometimes works badly when the walls are selected for a portal, and: - When another room also touches the selected room above or below, at the floor/ceiling sectors being adjacent right to the selected wall panels. Now I can choose: the room behind the wall (which is good for a portal), and the room below/above (which naturally makes a bad portal). Plus: if there is no touching room at all behind the selected wall, but there is that touching room above/below those sectors, then the bad portal will be opened right away, without any popup panel. - When eg. there are two rooms touching the selected room behind the room wall part: one on the left side, and another one on the right side: a, The selection is more than one panel sized to each touching room - it works well, with an error message. b, The selection is exactly one-panel sized to each touching room - now that panel pops up to choose a portal to one of these rooms. The result is naturally a bad portal, whatever I choose. c, The selection is one panel sized to one of the touching room, and more than one panel sized to the other touching room - now there is no panel to pop up, simply a bad portal will be opened. I also decided to ask about the editor's friezes. sometimes the editor, if you run wadtool in parallel, starts to "jam". this has been happening for a year and a half.
I thought it was my computer's fault, but I changed ALL the hardware, but the glitch remained. did no one notice it? |

I'm still very much enjoying playing with TE for TR2 - however I'm having a small issue when it comes to Lara going from a light ambient room to a dark one - the very sudden and obvious change in her body lighting. Shadow bulbs in the light room/or light bulbs in the dark room arent making any difference.
I worked with DXtre3d many many years ago, and I vaguely remember somewhere was a setting regarding Lara's "Spot light". This may not relate to the problem at hand at all, but it feels like it may be. Can't seem to find an equivalent function in TE to toy with. As usual, advice is always appreciated ![]() |

Maybe TR2main brought an improvement on this but I doubt it

Texture tile searches work only for selected tiles on Texture Panel.
So how can I search for invisible tiles (when no tile is selected)? Because "Untextured faces" have no match now for this. |

I'm building a level in TR1 engine. Once i build the level and start playing, the game crashes in one room with the "Matrix Stack Overflow" error. Anyone know what might be the cause? Any help is highly appreciated.

^make sure to add some geometry to your single room, you need a few boxes (I think it was 3) for it to work
