KV5 different versions - Page 9

I'd like to share my experience just today with the KV5 level, since it seems of relevance for this thread.

Keep in mind that I'm playing the Psone Classic downloaded from the US Store.

-After the Valley of the Kings level ends, I just didn't find the land rover especially useful, so as as soon as KV5 begins I leave the car and start doing the level by foot;

-At some point I decide to look for a guide on the internet to find some secrets in order to replenish my stock. I read mthis one at tombraiders.net, and pretty soon discover that the jeep is mandatory to end the stage. But no worries, the guide says I can backtrack to the beginning of the stage and retrieve it;

-the issue must have been farily common because the very detailed guide has an entire section dedicated to the backtracking route: however, once I reach the point seen in this screenshot, I notice that in my build of the game the terrain is different and I can't climb the slope no matter how I try;

-luckily the game had a stage skip cheat or I would have to relaoad my previous save from Burial Chambers, and the prospect of doing the two levels from scratch was a haunting one;

So here you have: bottom line, the earliest build of the game makes it impossible to backtrack all the way up to the start of the stage. Has anyone noticed this before?

There a few errors in the original release that are dealt with in later releases.
I didn't know about this one but they must have corrected it so people can't get stuck in the level like you did.

There is another one in the trenches level :

in this room in the first release you can jump on the top of the door you used to come in (the one on the right in the screenshot) and by doing that you will be able to access the top of the room. But in the release I'm playing now (the one from steam) you can't do this anymore !

An update: i downloaded the EU version of the game, and nope, that slope can't be crossed, not even in the newer one. Gotta need that Jeep cause there's no getting back to the level's beginning.

Still, the amount of differences between revs. Is very noticeable. Ammo count for example is completely broken in the first release.
