Didn't really know where else to put this. NoClip will be releasing a documentary on Crystal Dynamics next month, TR features quite heavily in the trailer and no doubt will be talked about in the documentary itself

Why are they so secretive about not having the duals in the reboot games. They try to explain how controversial it was, but they never get into the reason why they ultimately went with the bow as opposed to her duals. They also talk about how it was planned from the beginning to be a trilogy.
Edit From what they say it sounds like the duals would have overshadowed what they were working on with the reboot. They also bring up how they wanted to do a Casino Royale and do an origins story like all the other movie franchises were doing at the time.

The reboot games aren't really as disjointed as they seem. 2013: She has a traumatic experience that reveals to her that the supernatural is real. Rise: She is pissed off that she tried to tell everyone and nobody believes her. The people are also slandering her father in the press which is just adding to her frustration and she decides that since she knows the supernatural is real, Lara is going to prove it to the press and let them eat crow for it. This is where her obsession comes from. Yes she has some trauma from her father's death, but she is also dealing with the frustration of everyone telling her she is crazy. She learns that her father was killed by this mystery organization because of the supernatural stuff. She also learns that she can't just expose the supernatural stuff to the world like she wanted to do in the first place. After Rise her objective has changed from wanting to make the press eat crow to getting revenge on the people who put her family in the position they were in in the first place. Shadow: Lara discovers Trinity's location after months of searching and is obsessed with bringing them down for everything they put her and her family through. She wouldn't have experienced Yamati if not for Trinity, she may not have experienced her father dying and his abandonment if not for Trinity, it's why she is so pissed in Shadow and seems to have fun killing members of Trinity because she just doesn't gaf anymore. However through Shadow she learns to deal with her emotions and anger as well as put the past behind her and move on to greener pastures. At the end of Shadow she's confident and seems thrilled about tomb raiding and can't wait to see what's next for her. I honestly have to say that kinda does sound a lot like something a younger Lara may do tbh. I just think the execution of these ideas may have been what made this hard to understand.

Oh, Crystal actually offered their engine to Core in case they wanted it, back when AoD was being developed. It's an interesting fact.
Also, the guy claims they felt Core were just tired of making Tomb Raider and they felt it was a natural extention when it was given to them and started making Tomb Raider, and it was never as "us vs them" situation nor any plotting machinations. They actually wanted Core to succeed. And Amy REALLY wanted to make Tomb Raider, and she was given a round "No" and was forced to make another soul reaver, which she was tired of, and that's when she went to Naughty Dog and made Uncharted. And ND was mostly made of ex-CD employees

"What is the game/franchise in the past that poeple asked the most ?
- Hands down Legacy of Kain." Yeah pretty much solidify what game will be remastered/revisited when they talked about classic Eidos games. ![]() Oh ! Missed that. I regret they didn't collab in the past for AOD or TRAE.

If it's not TR remasters then oh well I suppose. At least we will let some news on the next game and the future of the franchise next year.
